Cuts are going to be announced at the beginning of February. It is all happening quickly. Meeting is in Vegas, but is only for people who don't get cut. This whole situation sucks, anyone on the PC side is at risk.

We can control any of this. Go out and sell...that's all you can do now. Get resume ready for sure. Those in poor Managed Care access areas should be fearful. Those in poor access areas for physicians and government regulations should be looking now. It is all about DSI and the future business...not people.

baaahahaaaa...Just Go out and SELL, LMAO. Just go out and get a signature, lots of signatures...it gives the impression that you're working harder than the signature grabber working next to you!

Overtime lawsuit victories, the courts have proven that you don't sell anything, you only get signatures and drop off samples, bagels and cheeseburgers. (Some call this Patient Education) I just order lots of glossy MVA's, studies and do-dads and stack them on the counters to prove that I was out-signaturing my other PC reps, but make sure you stack them with a garbage can below so the bagel eaters don't have to work too hard to clean up your mess.

Try to sell your manager that you hate down the river so you may end up with one of the other half-wit box checkers. Then sell yourself to a headhunter because they are the only ones who desperately love you, need you and want you...Now go out and SELL!

How many people? Why wouldn't CV reps be at risk too? There is no need for as many of them as we have. How do you know Feb?

December 21, 2010...CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, "Kaiser vs. Daiichi Sankyo"

#27, You are a DUMB ASS! Why do you think Pharma Industry has been on the decline for years...Management can only squeeze so much blood out of a turnip, forcing you to skip your family life balance so you can POD PAY your doctors at fake dinner meetings for the sake of patient education. Shit, I guess they have just run out of dumb ass things for us reps to do.

You can join the class action lawsuit in Ohio and get your overtime owed to you plus extra if you live in California. You can also follow your managers brown hole and "Just go out and SELL", LMAO, but you will have to do something there you little college grad just got my first big time job loser ass and do something...but you can't stay!

Update resume, check...Call Enterprize Rental Car back and beg for your old job, at least you actually sold something, Extra Insurance Sir?

F*uck you! You old Fu*Kers are the lazy ones, it's not our fault half of
You are going through your old people crisis, miserable, and rely on happy pills to force you to the field. This is our first job, remember we are still very marketable. You complain about family life balance, and overtime pay, and dumb ass things they make you do, etc yet you have been in the Industry for 10 plus years posting the same message every year. I guess that makes you a big time job loser too? If the downsizing do occur, atleast I know one thing my resume will get calls for job offers, your resume will get you Medicare. Stop complaining, bitching and making excuses for everything...and go work because quite frankly your the one that needs "the extra (medical) insurance Sir"

Just returned from splinter mtg - Specialty and Hospital won't be affected due to the contract with Lilly. PC3 will most likely suffer the most. Those posting above about poor access are correct along with too many DM's in one city. Vegas meeting will be held for morale, welcoming the new pres and yes, some new product training, i.e., the managers that get shuffled around who now have to carry Welchol vs. Effient and/or Tribeans.

Such is the way of our industry. It is....what it is.

DSI is a great company!! But it is a company. It runs like all companies in the fact that you have to bring in enough to pay for the expenses. The two main expenses are samples and salaries(healthcare, car, etc). You have to cut one or the other if products aren't producing as planned. No one has a crystal ball to know what lies in the future of any job and no one ever knows how the FDA and other factors will affect the launch or approval of future products.
As with most jobs in this industry - one thing is consistent "Change". So be realistic - work hard - and do a good job and you will be compensated one way or another. I've worked for other much larger companies and the DSI environment does not have big Pharma feel. It's possible you might be unfortunate to get a bad manager but that could happen with any job. I have a great "non-micro managing" manager and I have been in the industry for 9 years. I work hard. I don't go home at 2pm (oh and BTW I don't see alot of other reps out when I'm working from 2-5 and the reps that I do see out working still have jobs. HMMMMM!) and I have done well each year. They pay well and they don't fill new positions if the future is unclear, unlike some other companies. And any good company will trim the fat. You better hope you work for one because that's smart money management which pays your salary.

Quit worrying about the cuts, work hard, always be considering better opportunities in your life. Our work environment is not the same as when our parents grew up and BTW alot of great products will be generic in a few years. So, if pharma reps don't have a special product within oncology, diabetes, etc. We all will be looking for a job. It's the nature of the beast!
