You wont make much I was a Center Manager their for 1 year. Sales start out at 24k with comm usually around 1500 monthly in our city with a population of a million. Lincare is underdog around here. I would never recommend them to anyone. I would rather p/u beer cans roadside that work for that company.

Yeah, this too, is something new for oxygen - at least the nationals. In my first oxygen market there were several nationals including Lincare and they all had nice facilities. All the salaried people at my firm had company cars (mid-sized Chevy or Pontiac station wagons) and nobody had to ever be embarrassed to bring a prospective referral source to the branch office. Now it's a rare oxygen center that isn't nasty. I went into the Lincare center here in my market once and found rude, unfriendly people sitting in a dark, dirty center. I asked them who was in charge and they acted like I had asked themto recite pi to 100 decimal places. At first I thought they just weren't telling me because they thought they weren't supposed to but as I pressed them I realized, omigawd, they don't know.

thats because the turnover is so high, you never know who is in charge or who walked out the day before

run as fast as you can from that place. don't even interview. you won't get your expenses back and they treat their sales reps like crap. mngt is terrible! rvp's, area managers, and some center managers care nothing about their staff. it's not a sales job, its a nightmare. they tell you that you are salary, but you are really hourly, and the miles you put on your car for what you do, just don't add up. not only that i'm not in scrubs so don't ask me to go to a patients house to set them up for overnight 02 testing.

I spent years working for this company and was miserable everyday. I was in sales and managment. Lincare is a joke! Someone said earlier to not even interview and they are right, it is a waste of time. People use this company just to get experience and move on, but the misery you will put yourself through isnt worth it. They do not care about their employees at all, I know from experience as a manager. Not to mention the salary is 24K for a sales rep which is HORRIBLE. I know the job market is tough, but it isnt tough enough to work for Lincare. Run away from Lincare!!!!

I'm not usually a negative person but my expierence with Lincare has been more and more terrible ever since I started. I've been in sales for 3 years, I wasn't trained what so ever, just thrown out there with demands, theres so much turnover in the office only 1 out of 9 poeple had more than 1 year with the comany, the other guy 4.

We had no real direction expect grow bitches or else. We honestly took pride in our jobs and continued to try and grow and meet the crazy demands, we improved alot and for the first year and showed moderate growth, the rest of our area did well too. The secong year our entire area did bad, 15 sales reps and all were way below goals. We held our market share and grew but not close to goal, our area manager went absoltely crazy along with our regional manager and vice president. Threats to reps started happening almost everyday, they were in a constant effort to catch anyone doing anything wrong.... with no intentions of firing, just to torture and torment. Everyone has been on an action plan numerious time and is always on last written warning for fire.

The CSR had over 500 patients by herself and constately was baggered and stressed about getting paperwork done, she did her absolte best but was constately nagged and thearthened for 3 years straight, even at times demanded she work 10+ hours a week overtime instead of hiring another employee. The drivers are so busy it's ridiculous and freak out about any overtime even though most orders come through late in the day and have to be set up. Therapist drive way to much for what they get paid and ours was on call 24/7 with no additional pay, got a go out call while at the beach and got written up after missing the first call of a year and a half striaght.

As for Sales............. Don't get sucked in as I did my friend. The first year I hit my goal which were outrages, 16%, when the average center only grew 4%. After promising me around 65,000 I made 38,000 that year. The second year I made more like 50,000, my shechdule was constatley scrutinized. Getting expenses back is absoltely outrages, they reject everything and treat you like your trying to cheat the company. They demand at least 3 lunches a week and I was constately owed 2,000 dollars at a time. At one time $3200 bucks , every report is rejected at least once and takes around 4-5 weeks to get your money back, not making your credit card payment dude. If you ever forget to submit a correction they will never tell you, I asked one time if I had submitted an expense report corrections and weather I had been paid out yet, they would not tell me. If you mess up and get a lunch that you can't verify the exact way they want, your not getting paid. I never had any constructive critism or help to improve my sales, I was ignored when I hit the month goal I was bashed every second on low months. After only a year and a half there were only 2 out of 15 reps that had been there longer then me..... and I was desperate to get out. I applied for a transfer to a better regoin and after performing better than almost all other reps was bashed about my lack of success with the company (They knew no other poor sap would possibly take my job for 50,000 a year).

Sorry so long but that's the real deal, I could go on forever. If it's the only job you can get man.... theres a reason. They were nice at first but runnnnnn.

Wow... Everyone has some harsh things to say... Take it all with a grain of salt. For a company that employess around 10,000 people you are bound to have someone unhappy. I have been with the company almost 3 years. Although my center has had it's ups and down I can truly say I love my job. So much of your expierience depends on your managers in place. I have a brightly lit, sparkeling and clean center. Where protocol is followed and our patients are first priorioty... and my sales rep does very well!

I just came upon this thread and I think the person that wrote the statement before me must be on crack. I have worded in the DME feild for along time and everything everyone is saying is true. Hugh demands, no training and it is all about money and the numbers. If anyone in the DME field thinks that this is about patient care, must be on crack. This is why I just gave my notice to this company and I can't wait to get my life back.

    Attention All Marketing Reps
As a former Marketing rep who was terminated for refusing to carry ANY O2 tanks ( to hospitals for discharges or setups), or concentrators in my personal vehicle due the the fact that YOUR personal auto coverage WILL NOT cover you in an accident. I am now an insurance agent and would like to warn you that you cannot be forced or should you do this. First to transport O2 without the legal safety restraints i.e cages and secure racks is illegal in most states, you are a driving hazard to yourself and others. Imagine an e cylinder hitting you in the head if in an accident or God forbid it gets punctured or worse. This is a warning to ALL sales people who are asked to perform this task as part of your duties (in some states it is illegal to do this) but companies like Lincare and other D.M.E companies continue to put their employees in harms way with NO regard for safety. Rather than take my word for it, call your agent and simply ask if you would be covered in the event of an accident. Make sure and explain you are doing this for BUSINESS and you do not have a personal prescription yourself for O2. I think some of you will be surprised at the answer. If your agent still says it is okay,THEN contact your actual carrier and make sure about your coverage. PROTECT yourself....They don't care about you,only$$$$...Management in Clear Water could careless about your safety...So next time when your regional goes on calls with you and writes you up for not have setup on you, just tell him to contact your attorney.

Hope Humana doesn't have an MDINR program in the works. If so Apria will be doing it. They seem to be doing everything else for Humana including taking all of our patients.
