At the meeting this year I would like to see a new structure to the HR department. Years of a lack of human resource professionalism has led to poor management and an unhealthy corporate culture.

I believe the extremely high turnover is also partially because of our lack of human resource development.

Excellent sales represenatives should be promoted to management so that they have direct experience in the field. Mangers that have extememly high turnover should be let go. The cost of high turnover effects the bottom line and hurts sales.

One would think this would be obvious but Skinmedica seems to keep managers even though they constantly turnover representatives. The managers tenure seems to be based more on friendships then on performance.

Many companies are reducing mid-management. I see that possibly happening here as well.

It costs a minimum of 100,000 to bring on each new representative. A manager that constantly turns over representatives hurts the bottom line. An HR manager that does not develop a good culture will ruin an entire company.

Ha ha ha this is so well said, funny and true. She was by far the worst manager I've ever "had". What is wrong with her? I honestly would ask myself that when I worked for her. I did everything I was supposed to do yet it was never good enough. I even made my goals! The one thing I totally refused to do is kiss her ass. That's where she shuts down and fires people. If you don't play her game, you are gone. By far the worst "manager" I've ever worked for. She set the bar for what I won't tolerate from a "manager". Stalking, unstable clownface.

By any chance did you contact an attorney? I am just curious if anyone has talked to an attorney and if they have one that they would recommend?

I did. I had a case however he said it would take a considerable amount of time. I had proper documentation showing harrassment and the way I was let go wasn't legal. However, they are an at will eomplyer so anything goes. I didn't want to invest the time, energy or emotion on it so let it go. Lesson learned though. I learned what I won't ever put up with from a manager again. Kelly is beyond like anything I have ever dealt with. She has some serious issues with her management style and I know she has cost the company loads of $$. If you have a good solid case, any labor attorney will take it. You just have to be willing to invest the energy.

How long ago was this? I spoke to an attorney who said that the attitude has changed drastically in the employment department. The constant e-mails after hours creat over-time. You probably are aware that one of the major pharmaceutical companies had to pay a huge settlement to reps because of the after hours programs. If you have documentation of all the before and after hours e-mails, phone calls and programs there is an easy case for overtime pay. I know it isn't exactly what you were looking for but it would be something? Anyone interested?

If we all use the same law firm there won't be a lot of work for any one person.

I tried to post the name on here of who I am using but it has been blocked. There may be some rule against it so I don't want to post anything that is banned.

Ahcroft and Gerel. E-mails can be delayed and sent out between 8-5 Monday through Friday. I don't know why people e-mail all weekend and late at night unless they just want someone to see they are working overtime to earn points? I am not sure.

Because they have nothing else to do with their life. Anyone sending emails at all hours of the night and morning for that matter have a pathological disorder known as narcissism. They believe it brings some kind of favorable attention to themselves and that feeling of being "better" than everyone else drives their every move. These people also hate to see others getting something they didn't get. It could be as simple as an acknowledgement that a question someone else asked was viewed as being "a good question". The narcissist now has to find a question that gets the same or even better reply. These people disguise their own craving for attention by arbitrarily praising others for the simplest most mundane tasks in hope of the attention being brought back to them 10 fold. They don't really mean what they say because all they care about is what it ultimatley does to satisfy their need for attention. The narcissist also is in total denial about their state of being. They have no ability to acknowledge their own weaknesses and God help the person that tells them something negative about themselves. We have at least 5 of these people in our mid level management team right now. You all know who you are and you're all pathetic and disgusting. Wait, I mean you're so great and the company would die without you! Ha!!
