So I have a second interview next week. From what I am reading it sounds like I should run. It's for colorescience. Thoughts?

Seriously, if really can't find another position with a company selling a decent Rx product, then go ahead and interview. It really depends on your mindset and honestly, your values. The products we have at SM and those at ColorScience are not real pharma products and although there is some science (nobody buys it though) we are selling a line of cosmetic products. We show doctors and staff how to force or lead their unsuspecting patients that they MUST use these products to have healthy skin either before a procedure and/or after a procedure. It's disgusting to me, but that's exactly what we do every day. We take advantage of the fact so many woman are so desperate to look younger/better and are willing to part with much of their cash to try products like ours that are a total sham. So many of us, not me thank God, are just as vain and misguided as well which makes it a pretty catty and mindless sales process. Here's a perfect way to know if you will fit in to this kind of product line as a sales person. If the first thing you do in the morning is look in the mirror and start messing with your appearance and the last thing you do at night is look in the mirror and mess with your appearance, then you are the perfect vain person we need to sell this crap. If you are just a normal woman with self confidence and health and appearance are important but don't consume your life, then I would look at other options. The superficial self absorbed women and the gay or near gay men that work here will eat you alive.

Joe is still here. We have quite a contigent of old derm people that were chased out of other companies. I wont' name names, but on paper they look great and then when you get to know them, you see real quick who they really are. The leadership is all men accept the CEO which is laughable as they don't know the first thing about a cosmetic line. It's a company without any direction or identity.

I know it cracks me up. The company hired a whole slew of people from a failed derm company when they launched the pharmaceutical side. Most of them were laughable. During the launch meeting it was so unorganized that I know a recently hired representative who went home half way through the meeting.

Hey I understand people need jobs and need to work. SM fits that need right now for many people. I thought for sure I was going to get the position with Leo and then Aqua and both times I lost out because my experience with SM was considered to be in an unrelated field since our products are not Rx and are direct sales. I've done pretty well here too but now I'm finding that my successes are not going to transfer like they did when I was selling Rx products. Morale to this story is don't let this company hang on to you more than a year or two. Your reputation as a pharma rep is diminished every day you stay with SM.

Thanks for the honest answer. I am basically considering it for experience. Get in, learn the area and parlay that into a position with another company.

I know what the other person is saying about the hair, face and boobs but there are some of us who don't do that and have done just fine. I've tried Botox twice but nothing else. The most interesting thing about those superficial women is they put so much into all areas of their appearance that there's little time for anything else! Obviously, they are not sincere people. Anyone who has such a warped view of themselves to do all of those things cannot ever relate to someone else without totally judging them in the same way they feel judged. Us normal girls take care of ourselves and accept ourselves for who and what we are. I don't feel any need to improve my looks for the benefit of someone else and I don't buy those women who proclaim they did/do it for themselves, not anyone else. That claim is even more sad. Yeah, they did it for themselves so they feel they can compete with the others that would critique them. It's what very insecure women do and have done for ages. Why do you think companies like SM can sell a face cream for $260? Don't let that stop you from coming to SM. We are all nice to each other it's just I won't every trust the women who look like that and I try to avoid being around them for social things. I don't want to be caught up in that sterotype!

AHHAHAHAHAHAHHAH such a comedian! It went well and I am moving to the next step with Tory on Monday. I was told that I need to prove to Tory that I am just as viable as the person who live in the back yard of the territory.

I am unhappy because all those hours I put in at night doing work and weekends ruined my family life and caused strife in my marriage.

If you are a man going for sales management you will. They hire female's for reps but male's for managers.

That's the worst part of this job and new people coming to this company cannot know what they are in for until they get into it! It all starts at the home office. These mindless people have no sense of the time difference. I'm still getting emails from home office at 9 PM at night and then my no life RSM compounds that by adding comments and or responding to everyone and sending 2 or three more emails!
