Any current reps willing to share the positives? It seems nothing but negative across the board on all other threads.

Anyone? I would like to know as well..
May not bode well if no one chimes in on this.

What about coming from outside the industry? Will it be a crazy challenge based on docs having relationships with other competitor's? Any insight on why working at NuVasive is a good thing would be much appreciated..

If you like a micro-management everyday by not so good managers then it is a good fit. I came from a smaller spine company and we rocked. Nuvasive will delay, delay, delay.
some really good people but a lot of knuckle heads at meetings thus far.

As a Nuva rep I am not happy with this cheetah thing. Speed of a turtle more like it.
AVP is crazy! ABD is nuts and the reps in the distributorships are not happy with their boss! Why does everyone with Nuva have such a hardone? Coming from outside the industry I am glad for the training though. I will use the labs to better my opts for next job in spine when Nuvasive runs into problems.

Hey Nuvasive is what you make out of it. Work hard and avoid the BS and you will do just fine. Full bag-spine and some better lateral offerings. After being with NuVasive I can tell you that the direct model rep is very interesting compared to the distributorship rep. You will have managers still jump on you when you are direct but distributors usually have rep/managers to jump on you too. Big difference I hear is that the distributors are money starved and always sticking it to the rep under them no matter what. Just in the last year I know of atleast twenty very strong people left distributorships because of poor working environments. If you are in the south do not go to Georgia or Florida. The Georgia and Florida Distributorships are the two worst offenders when it comes to reps and managers. I am in the west where it is a little more friendly. Make sure you do your homework on distributors in your area and the managers with Nuvasive before this move.

Can you expand on the FL distributor. They seem to have a good amount of business in the S FL, Tampa and Central FL area from what I have heard. I am possibly looking into making a move. The reps tend to be on the younger side with little experience. I guess thats where the low cost labor and micro managing would come into play. Your feedback is much appreciated.

I know that the Florida distributorship is losing people all the time. Can't be a great place to work. Yes they have many great pockets of NuVa guys.( consultants ) XLIF took off down there. Some good reps/manageres that have to pay for just about everything they do while the distributor sits backs and collects on their hard work. Not too bad if you are the distributor. There are a few other Florida spine distributors that will get bigger soon when more reps leave that Florida distributorship so look into it sooner than later.

He may be losing people but this distributor has less mouths to feed not a big deal. He will do just fine unless he loses some big boys in the middle of FL. I did hear that JNJ Depuy took over some bussiness (2.5 million of business) so it did hurt a little. Rumor on the street is that he is trying to sell the distributorship and get out of that Nuvasive company and do his own thing. Money talks.

    Re: Summer Meeting

I wonder how this meeting will shape up. It can't be good because our numbers are down. Maybe we should go watch the seals in LaJolla during the Alex "Tonite Show" show. Yes, it is early out here now so I guess I need some coffee before I start this big circle jerk all day. I think I learned something the first year but after that not much. I guess it is good for the newbees to listen and get brained washed before it reality hit thems. The beer is usually flowing by product night so I guess I will drink a few before the meeting to ease the pain of having to be here.

Terrible west coast sales management. No experience. Sits at home. No interaction with team. Brings nothing to the table. Laughable.

I have a dist who is not engaged. He sucks! Business is way down and people are sick of him and it. Nuva is blinded on this one.

How about those lawsuits Texas and New York. If you had a decent management group and product portfolio you would just pick up you head and go after new business. Problem is Nuvasive has too many consulting surgeons who use their stuff. This will really hurt across the country when other reps jump ship and take that business. I hope Nuva gets its' butts kicked. They will probably win some judgement but the worse part is that they waste money and time dealing with this stuff. Oh and by the way nice perc set and its disassociation properties :)
Look around NuVasive who is still around?

I am in the south and ready to get out of a terrible distribuorship. He is no help to business as far as I can see. Nice tan though

Heard there are openings in NJ at nuva. One of there biggest reps just left to start his own distributorship. Congratulations - great move! Cigarette sales must be off the map in NJ.
