Why would we be looking to layoff in 2014 if we dont get somebody to buy us because the last 3 yrs we have been listed as #2 for highest turnover behind Stryker in medical/pharma.

Its very apparent our pipeline is horrible with no phase 3 or final drugs. So a layoff is only way to reduce expenses. Our stock price has tanked over 5 yrs. I think Oncology is the only safe division with the company.

Thanks for posting again. Where's the source for this. Not true and our stock price is at a 5-year high. Not very credible. Did you hear the Q1 Earnings call? Sounds like a troll to me. But keep posting this so-called fact with no source included.

I had the unfortunate experience of working for Amgen a few years ago.
Truly one of the worst career experiences of my life. Dreadful people looking to through newbies under every passing bus!

This is typical of the hostile work environment at Amgen. HR sits back and watches this go on, knowing it will help them hit targeted attrition rate. The place is a huge network of individuals that excel at laying low and never causing any waves, hence the dismal performance under Kevin the Clown. The place is conditioned for medicoracy at best.

First biotech company to develop and destroy a blockbuster drug. Had the SEC an IQ over 50, they would have found some very troubling stock transactions right before the public disclosure about Enbrel having negative impact on patients with cancer.

And as the above thread clearly shows, the behavior of individuals at Amgen is quite pathetic. I enjoy just going to work each day and watching the "show". I wish Bob well, but there's not a lot he can do with what he has inherited. Good guy, means well, but this is just one systemic cluster. Our only hope was to be acquired and clean house, but Kevin put a pretty tight debt noose around our neck, so no chance that will happen.

In the meantime, I'll be hanging out at the Amgym most of the day, watching TV and get paid nicely for doing nada, then go get a smoothie and walk around campus, life is good in SoCal!

Imagine how good life would be if you worked a little harder, produced a little more, and had a postive impact on the people that you worked with.
You and my 3 year old have the "me/mine" perspective down pretty good.

Well dumb ass, I guess you missed the central theme, that's not surprising. If your productive, then the idiot crowd comes after you, is that how it is for your 3 year old dick head? Go ahead, work a little harder, can't wait to see your asses booted off the island by the masses, cause that's how the system works! Need I paint you a clearer picture, or are you spending too much time with your 3 year old in their 3 year old world!

nope if I miss it, I just come and listen to your dribble ! Sounds like you have given up on yourself, the company, and your life. Wow you are an impressive person. How does the man in the mirror look? Tired, defeated, lazy.....sounds like you are in a perfect spot. Such a honeysuckle

So go back to playing with your 3 year old, that's about your level of intelligence at this point. BTW, hope you can figure what that means, the man in the mirrors is laughing his ass of at you!

Just too much to read this stream. This was the same Amgen enviroment 20 years ago, nothing new just new people saying the same thing. You would have think that something would have changed during this time. Insitutionalized breading environment for bad karma. The company should eventually fix these issues.

Not sure if what OP states is fact or not but AMGN used to be a place for the best of the best and people were compensated as such. AMGN now wishes to have employees compensation benchmarked in the middle of phama. I would say turnover will continue or at least employees with significant experience will look to see what other options are out there.

I am not sure if this is right but at least in ACO and AML the turn over in the last few years is very high.
