    hey guys and gals,

so anyone got any info on Globus Medical? have a possible interview with them soon and was wanting some feedback, not just BS but what you know, hear, see. I'm looking for some inside info on this company. What are the docs saying about these products and how does the compensation stack up against other companies. I couldn't get specifics from the recruiter except that they will match my compensation, so I'm not sure what that means since I want to make more then I do now. also, how is corporate culture? is it micro or do you truly have ownership over your territory? all feedback is appreciated

    THANKS!

It's a great company with great products. I would say it is definitely not a micro-managed company. If you work hard and sell you will love the culture.

I never heard of a company matching salary for 2 years, especially Globus. I would go check it out and look at the products for yourself. In addition, I heard they started a sub-company that competes with Kyphon.

    Good luck to you!

Don't believe ANYTHING regarding salary until you see it in writing. GMI is terrible about making you promises about the package then changing it at the last minute.

There are some really good sales and management people there- and there are some really really bad ones- particularly at the RVP and up level. David Paul and Demski run the place with an iron fist and seriously don't give a shit about sales people or managers unless they are selling millions in products.

As a rep- if you can bring a good book ( greater than 2 million a year) you will make great money- but you better be able to bring it. there are way too many pretenders in spine that make huge commitments and can't back it up. That said, if you can bring it and have the relationships, the products are very good and you'll make 12-14% from dollar 1 and no one will ever get in your business.

The other side of that coin is brutal- state you have the book, sign a big guarantee and don't deliver in the first 6 months- you're gone.

As a manager- it's a whole different story. There is absolutley ZERO appreciation for the team. Brett Murphy is a short little weasle dick that manages without tact. The RVP's for the most part are afraid of their shadows and will not support you as a manager- regardless of performance- you literally have to do everything yourself. And compensation is really f'd. How's this- you get to pay the company back if you're below your last year's sales in a given month- they tout 275+ a year, yet most managers struggle to make $ 185.

Like I said- rep job is very good if you produce- the rest is just a nightmare.

How is business in the west? In particular, Colorado? I hear Stryker and Nuva are the big hitters but GM is up and coming, and strong. any in put is appreciated. Anyone know any reps GM reps in CO or the AVP?

The best thing about this post/thread is the fact that it is under nuvasive. Shows how insignificant nuvasive has become. Globus is the new star in spine - nuvasive is the tired old swayback thanks to lack of innovation and senior sales management that is uneducated, unqualified, and unable to make decisions.

Its true, GMI is now the big dog in spine. Im an ortho rep and they have completely taken over the spine biz in my area. They have the Synthes, Nuva, and Stryker reps pissed off and begging for business. I have heard nothing but good things about Globus.

Well said and all very true. How do you hire sales Mngmt from outside the biz and expect positive results? How? They don't have the relationships and can't walk the talk.

nuvasive must hire outside the industry as know one with spine background will allow for the brainwashing and constant beat downs. Their recruiting focus is pharma and pt intentionally to bring on the ignorant, lazy and easily programed. alex. pat and keith make all decisions, sales managers have no authority, they just blindly follow.

It looks like Globus is going to run that jar-head distributor out of Georgia soon. It is so easy to pick off the those NuVasive accounts.

I think that the distributorship is done in Georgia. You never see him anymore.
That guy lives on some huge farm in Alabama or Mississippi.

Who is the jar head you mentioned?

It has to be David Lane. I interviewed him him a few years back in Georgia. He seemed interesting but was a little strange. He had a cool manager with him that really knew his stuff.

I agree totally with the author of this post. They love you one day and kick your ass out the next. Very true about Brett Murphy (Tatto), no support, just DP's cling on. I would think again before I took the leap!

Does that mean all the stock they offered to surgeons will be cashed out and at what value? 10:1 I dont think so. Might have some upset surgeons when they realize how many stocks are floating around.

globus has duped many people including patients with manipulating test results and their own employees, it is certain that they would do the same to their customers and surgeon consultants.
