    Dan,
When we said you were a low-life, pathetic sellout, we didn't think you would take it so literally. We thought at least your greed and inflated ego would negotiate a better deal than this one. Now, get your limey ass back in there and re-negotiate a real offer. Oh, wait, you and your execs are too busy counting your loot and reflecting on what a laudable job you did steering Amylin into the iceberg. Good show, old chap!

Of course Dan and the Board sold out so low, because their stated corporate goal was to complete an OUS partnership before the end of June, 2012. By rushing this deal before the June 30 deadline, executive management will collect an even larger corporate bonus as part of their already extraordinarily generous severance package. There must be other compensation tied to this date (read stock options), since this management team would not do anything unless it benefits them financially. All else be damned!

We got a great deal. I can and have slammed our senior management, but it's a better price than it's probably worth

You don't even know the half of it, but nothing compared to the closet cases in Sr. Management. Getting promotions just require having the right "skills".

If any company thought they bid was too low, they'd offer a higher one. Nothing but crickets out there so far.

Give Dan a break. He was in a position that you too would probably have to make the same decissions. There was no malice or "1st degree intent" here. It is what it is.......business. Let's move on, and make the best of it. Move on.

Any chance DB will be the CEO of AZ?? as you all know, AZ CEO stepped down recently and they are looking for a dynamic, energetic leader who knows science and business as well.
    DB might fit well.

He's dynamic and energetic alright. Dan can hardly answer a question on an investor conference call without stuttering. Energetic? If you call a slug energetic.

Knowledge of science and business. Let's just say he is not smarter than a third grader. Dan, can you spell DNA? Business? He would bankrupt a hot dog stand.

Dan sounds like the perfect candidate to be CEO of AZ. If you need a CEO to put the final nail in AZ's coffin, Dan's your man.

    Predictions:
AZ and BMS will merge very soon and BMS CEO heads the new bio-pharma industry.
Dear Dan will not have any chance even close to that.
Why this fine gentle man needs another job with more than 60 millions in pocket?
what he needs is a nice vacations in Las vegas or Hawaii with lots of Viagra or Cialis.
Let him enjoy man and please don't pick on him.

Good one. We haven't even begun to give Dan his due. He and his yes men (I include Marcea in the "men" category) had no other choice because their strategy sucked. Lilly was carefully maneuvering Amylin into a corner for years, while Dan and his braintrust did NOTHING to stop them. The job of the CEO is to anticipate and find creative solutions around major problems, not to be baited and corralled into traps set by your competitors.

I saw it coming. Where is my $50+ million in stock and options?

Pity about you. Sorry man. Your 50 million+ is in DB and his co-workers under wear. Catch it if you can. Probably you can also try some from EC including CW.
