Really? I have not met a dentist yet that did not haggle on price. If your prices are good you don't have to make deals. But EVERYONE knows that the large implant companies always have to make deals to close business (special discounting, extended terms, etc.). This is directly related to keeping their business from drifting to lower priced implant companies.

I am not sure why this is a problem. Don't other implant companies offer training courses in other parts of the world? Maybe instead of assuming exploitation you should contact them directly and simply ask them the questions you have posted above.

Your dentists always haggle on price because you call on a different subset than I do to sell implants-the GP. I would estimate only 25% of my customers ever even bring up price, and mine are some of the most expensive products. The reason is that they have been burned, or have heard of other colleagues being burned, with lesser quality product from clones or other competitors with higher incident rates. Simply put, they know better. Sure, there are discount programs related to volume use, but you have to earn those tiers first, and my docs have the ability to do so to make the agreement viable for the both of us. I honestly don't know how companies like Megagen even stay in business.

Don't listen to these people. Pay is great with great management. There is a lot of fear on these boards because they don't want Megagen to reach its full potential. Better design for half the price without sacrificing quality.

I don't want to speak for anyone else, but trust me, there is no fear, and after looking at your product, I have all ther faith in the world that Megagen will reach its full "potential"(although its hard to tell,...... you may have reached it already). I'm glad to hear they pay you well and you like the management, looking forward to selling against you some time soon.

Great management, you have to be kidding me. Maybe great management in Korea not in the USA.

They will be a force for the price-conscious GP crowd, no more, no less. Me-too products, little differentiation apart from what you see here- buy from us, we are cheaper!

The guy running sales in the US is a former Lifecore guy, as are several of his reps (he probably wrote the post I copied), so the team knows how to sell discount me-too products and knows who to sell to.

How far can they go? Who knows- it seems that there is a new discounter ever time you turn around. The $75-150 market is pretty full now. Osstem, Blue Sky, Implant Direct, BioHorizons, Zimmer, etc to name a few.

No threat at all to the specialist market and premium players.

The former Lifecore guy isn't running the operation Korea is. He only sold to bottom feeders. As for his sales team, they sold Lifecore products with the same philosophy as their leader today. Sell it cheap and sell to whoever. They have a great business in South of the Border. They mare only going to attract GP's.

Wow, It is amazing to see how the new trends are affecting the old salespeople. Stop crying dummies, the system is changing for better. Now you have to adapt or die.

    Who is crying?

    Who are the dummies?

    Adapt or die?

What kind of an idiot wrote this in reply to an accurate discussion of this company? Sounds like somebody isn't so proud of selling the look-alikes and clones...

  20. Th tone of this thread is regrettable. Megagen is here to stay! Like it or not.
To call the buyers of their products "bottom feeders" is silly.
