    I agree. I was a commission based recruiter for seven years. Maybe once or twice found anyone good on the internet. Not only that, most of the internal corp recruiters are on those sites. I had to go out and find quality candidates on my own which is tough to do! Most good people are usually working and not looking.
    Recruiting is a tough gig! THere are a lot of unprofessional idiots in recruiting as well. Good headhunters make a lot of money!

    How can you go about finding who the hiring manager is???? That's the problem, or question....

    Just use some basic detective skills. LinkedIn is a great way to find out who the sales reps and managers are. Place a cold call to the hospital's purchasing/material management department and ask if they can provide you with the contact info for that company. Make some cold calls, be creative, be bold, be friendly. You'd be surprised how much information people will give you.

    Forgot to add that you can also call the company directly; they usually have an 800 number and you can ask to have a representative to contact you. Also, some companies put rep's contact info online and/or which doctors use their products. So, you can find out the name of a local doctor who uses the product sold by the company you want to work for, call their office, and ask the receptionist to give you the contact info for the salesperson who calls on that doctor. Again, there are several ways to get information...you just have to work for it.

    Sometimes you can copy and paste some of the job description (from GorillaMed/MedReps/other blind job ad) into Google and it will take you directly to the hiring company's website or to another site that will allow you apply for the job yourself thereby bypassing the recruiter.

    Hey loser,

    Don't take yourself too seriously. Recruiters are bascially at the same level in society as used car salesmen. We don't care that you place 60-70 reps a year and that you have been in the business for 17 years. It's a scummy business with the majority of you being idiots so please at least realize the field you are in. Just shut up and if we need a job we will call one of you and hope you don't screw us.

    You recruiters should start your own thread titled "worst candidates ever" and state their shitty credentials they deem viable to be be in med sales.... That'd be interesting. It's pretty sad that you guys call people out BY NAME on here..

    Larry Shapero of Medmark USA...posts the same bullshit over and over and over...
    also those 3 young Douche Bags, Steve Jackson,Gabriel Essner, & Anthony Cochrane of National Source Recruiting. SAME Bullshit job posts every few days for past several months...

    These guys are all scum!

    I couldn't agree more about Larry... I remember seeing the same posts from him a year ago. I've applied to his postings and never once heard back from him, not even a "hey I received your resume". I'm qualified for his opps too! I don't even apply to his posts anymore. Once I see he is the recruiter, I just move right along to the next... Thanks Larry you're the best!

    Looks like GorillaMed made it after all. I just had third interview last week for a job I found on that site, and hope to get an offer Friday. I think it is a much better site than MedReps.
