I am a former customer of this scam packed company. I was advised by my atty this week to put a lot of space between my practice and these scumbags. I would advise any physician wanting to avoid a knock on the door from the FEDS to stay away from this company.

I want whats best for my patients. Had i known that serious criminal wrong doing was taking place, I never would have become a customer of this trashy lab. Bad people.

So, buying a 8 dollar cup performing a screen that pays 20- approx 150( Medicaid vs private) then sending to ML to confirm all results ( positive AND negative results) for all patients is what's best for your patients?

No. Thats why i stopped sending ML my test. I got away from them as soon as I realized they had a scam going.

The lab you left for them tried to tell you this was an issue. I wish all the docs would have investigated this further before jumping on the "free money" bandwagon.

The starting pay a few years ago was $85,000 for a Senior Sales Specialists....It was the WORST job environment I had ever been in. I quit just under a year. Urine Toxicology sales is sleazier than used car sales. Every lab says that they are ethical, and that they follow the law, yet every lab has a different spin on how they can operate. Physicians do not care about the technology or which lab has better results and turn around time. They care about how they can make the most money, and how they can cover their butts with the DEA. I would rather sell anything else.

Can anyone provide similar companies that perform data entry work? I was a former employee that did data entry at this company but ended up leaving because of the high stress environment that was always prevalent. The only similar company I can recall that does this type of data entry is LabCorp.

so now that payers are not going to cover genetic testing, what is the plan. Do the reps get paid on it if the company does not?
Are the reps still selling 2D6
Is the menu going to expand with 3A4 or any other genes?
Are you going after patient balances?

Besides the issue of the test kits for screening, I am told that the confirmatory quantitative tests (chromatography) are being billed with multiple procedure codes (5+) and multiple units (5-10 per procedure code) on the same day test, on the same single specimen. This generates a ton of billing . . .but is it appropriate??

It's very appropriate for the lab's bottom line. As to medical necessity, good science, the health care system in general, and your patients -- that's another story.

IF Millenium didn't cave into the pressures of allowing physicians to bill for screening, you wouldn't be asking this question. Any company cannot survive doing positive screen confirmations only. You have to be able to clear 170+ per specimen for a company to make any money.

Cave in? Seriously? When a spreadsheet is left at a doctor's office showing how they can pull down a million bucks a year reading point of care piss cups??? Keep back pedaling, makes the grand jury investigation even easier.

You are clueless. Millennium started the poc reimbursement craze. You do not have to clear 170+ to make money. Millennium has to clear that due to overhead. Look at the cars, planes and homes of the people at the top. Million dollar grants to buy business. The facts on this greedy group needs to be explored starting with the entrepreneur of the year.

Millennium Lab - Hawaii an island paradise no more...

Looks like Darren is going to pound the coconuts out of Millennium for letting him go. He was all over Oahu last week with the owner of Precision Toxicology doing sales calls as a "consultant"....yes, including current Millennium clients.

Is it true there was 50% pay cut? What was the reason?
