Proactively called me. Would not return a call/email.
If you found who you wanted, fine. If you decided I'm not what you were looking for, fine. Just have the courtesy/decency to return a call. It takes one line of an email. 30 secs.

He got me my old job.... never heard back from him when I decided I wanted to make a move and tried calling him though.

They are all so desparate that they are sharing their listings. Next time one gives you a hard time, remind them that 3 other recruiters have the same exact posting. They get a lot nocer very quickly. A small upside to an otherwise tight Job market.

Peter Michalski. The good news is that he doesn't get many positions so the odds of actually running across him are pretty slim. He basically tried to extort a former employer's contact list in exchange for an interview. Absolute shyster.

Bob Hutchinson and Peter Dowd are both bottom feeders. They will lie through their teeth to place you, don't fall for it

    1) 90% of recruiters communicate with candidates soley on their terms. Do not expect "professional courtesy".
    2) Recruiters are not doing well right now since the number of job opps is shrinking. Many are sharing contracts with other recruiters. Shop around who you work with.
    3) Recruiters are people who are typically less skilled, but are aggressive. Don't expect to learn anything from them.
    4) Be nice, return calls but don't think they're looking out for you. It's strictly business with them no matter how chummy some might seem.
    5) If you can, avoid them. Try to find the postings on the web. Might take some time, but often you can get around the recruiter. However, recruiters also often hold the key. (which sucks).
    6) Hilleren and Assoc. are ass-clowns.

Bob Hutchinson is awful, I would stay far far away from anything he is involved with

I lost interest in an opening just cause the recruiter was getting a little too pushy. I enjoyed immensely leaving him a message saying I was no longer interested in the position on the day he thought I would "close the deal"!!!

If you are, in fact, representing a manufacturer, I challenge you to write your posting with the specific experience you are looking for. If you want someone who is currently calling on a specialty, then SAY IT. If you are willing to look at someone with past experience selling to that specialty, then SAY THAT. Maybe the vague, catch all job descriptions does not attract the candidates you are looking for. DO US A FAVOR, and yourself a favor- be specific!

Meg from Prosource is a Beeatch. Very rude and i hope the companies she represents find out that she goes the extra mile to treat candidates like shit.

I disagree. Bob actually got me an interview. I thought he was one of the better ones to work with.
