    Stockholder

As I know executive management and board of directors read Cafe Pharma I would like to add my perspective. I did vote to oust the existing Board due to poor company and stock performance. I would vote again to oust the existing board if given the opportunity. Considering the fact that stock holders are at risk of losing 100% of their investment with the even declining stock price.
I work in the industry and have a difficult time understanding how this launch has gone so wrong. It's not rocket science to understand that formulary acceptance is key in our healthcare environment. Discounts and rebates are expected not negotiable (although negotiated based on market share growth). I don't feel this current board has the background or credentials to lead this company or these products. It is true that obese people most likely put out large sums of money on others meds to treat comorbidies like diabetes but patients have never seen medication as worth the cost. You cannot use the cost of your meds to impress people you don't know and don't like as you can with a car, house, etc.
You have to get people on drug to grow market share and increase word of mouth. Considering the money spent on this Board of Directors and executive management I recommend they all take a serious pay cut and put that money in discounts, rebates and formulary approvals. Your stockholders are feed up. We passed disappointed a long time ago. Get your act together or resign! Fulfill the promises you made when you called to lobby for my vote!

    Re: Stockholder

Better yet. Get your ass out of the Board Room pick up a bag, leave your titles in the boardroom and go call on providers. Go work some vacant territory under the disguise of a new rep and learn what it like on the street. You all need an eye openers to what actually happens in the field on a daily basis. If you have never sold in this industry or if it's been more than 10 years you are way out of touch.

So true. How many times a day does every rep hear, it costs too much.? The new vouchers should be $100 off to offset the new price increase. More doctors would have more patients satYimg on Q and, they would see the benefits. Instead, it's a constant battle that doesn't need to be fought. Stop thinking like an exec and start thinking like a consumer. Would you pay $150/mo, every month for this drug? I wouldn't. We can't expect the general public to pay that much. Don't give me, MC, right now, I bet at least 90% of all rxes are cash. Lets do something to help keep those people on Q.

Today marked another milestone in the inept leadership of this company. Laying off 50% of the sales force and hoping half the amount can increase marketshare with less share of voice is absurd. The morale of the remaining is at an all time low and the managers have seen how the Vivus upper management treated reps. Giving reps a one day notice and leaving employees without insurance or a car. Many may say whiners are sounding off but would you like for a family member to be told at 400pm today that tomorrow you are without job, insurance , car and we will give you 2 weeks pay if you give us all your information regarding lunches and appointments.
They showed total disregard for loyal employees and actually hired reps last week with a start date of April 1st knowing that layoffs were in the upcoming week. These unfortunate sales reps are not even qualified for cobra or the 2 weeks severance. Is this the leadership you voted for last year? Do you really think the remaining reps with huge geographies will be working hard or pursuing other job opportunities. The writing is on the wall and today showed the arrogance and the self serving mentality this company has portrayed since Qsymia was launched. I hope for the best for the longs because you are about to lose your lunch. Go to vivus yahoo finance message board to see future is grim.

Vivus yahoo finance posters having pissing match over layoffs. I are confused how many let go and why Vivus thinks it would be a better use of money to spend budget on Internet advertising. For the record 45 people lost their jobs and they already had 10 openings. So that are at a loss of 55 reps. Numbers continue to go down and the the top reps are weekly losing script volume to Contrave and Belviq scripts. Targeted doctors not affected as much but we just reach a small percent of the market where as takeda and eisai reps cover 4 to 5 times the doctors in our universe. Now who do you think is going to come out the winner? They also do not seem to have a leg up on marketing because when you check apps for Qsymia it doesn't even show up!

Q is superior to the other products but the marketing and pricing has made this a very difficult sell. The reps should be commended for the work they have done. We have gone to a gun fight with a wet noodle as our weapon. Give us a better chance to succeed. That's all we ask.

They have had over two years to right this ship and they can only blame the reps because its too hard to point the finger towards themselves. I am much happier now that I am employed elsewhere but considering Qsymia was a great drug and the managers blew it. Its a shame for the investors and reps who count on this company to provide for their families.
