Purdue Pharma is by far the most unethical company out there. Purdue was once the leader in pain management - OxyContin being their bread and butter. To date, Purdue is actively supporting pill mills in various states around the country and the fact that patients are addicted and dying is nothing to them. Any rep who attempts to do the right thing is promptly retaliated against and forced out. If a rep even considers filing a report about a bad doc or pill mill, that rep is promptly told not to report it and targeted by HR and upper management for termination. Avoid this company at all costs. Those who stay here have blood on their hands.

Shameful. I've heard things about this company. How is the FDA not shutting this place down?

RBP has these same behaviors!! They are total slime in the schedule III market.
Check out the pill mill in Indy that had 1800 patients and was giving out meds after seeing patients for less than a minute!! This was on the local news on July 25. They are a discrace to the industry.

I'm so thankful someone put this up! It's such a disgrace that companies continue to behave this way with no recourse. My sister-in-law has worked for Purdue for over a decade and has recently been experiencing retaliation from her idiot manager. Truly awful place.

Yes! Avoid this company at all costs!!!!!! They are one of the lowest paying pharma companies and for whatever reason they think their reps should be "honored" to work there. This is an abusive environment for anyone. With so many unemployed reps, Purdue has almost 75 available rep positions. Turnover is well about 40%, which is unheard of. They are not an equal opportunity workplace either. When I was initially interviewing I was told by the DM (who was African American) that I had lots of opportunity with Purdue because I'm an African American female. Hire and promote me for my skill or work ethic not because I'm African American and I'm female! Clearly this is how she promoted - sad, sad, sad!

The above post is spoke on. I am a current employee for Purdue and interviewed for a DM position on the east coast. I interviewed with the RM along with many others but was passed up for an African American female with less experience than anyone else. (She shared with many of her reps and DM colleagues that she probably wasn't ready)...

It's not only disgraceful to any applicant who is qualified but it's disgusting that she trumped so many candidates simply for being an African American female who knew/knows she isn't ready. In addition to this disgraceful act, she is discussed continually at meetings because she has been monitored routinely because of her lack of job awareness and multiple seasoned reps have left Purdue because they have been charged with being her "keeper" and to train her to get her up to speed.

It's a slap in the face for any qualified ppl looking to promote but a bigger slap in the face to the qualified, hard working African American out there. We are judged because of incompetent, entitled ppl like her.

    Bravo Purdue. Bravo.

    To the above poster:

The DM's and RM's are compensated for hiring and promoting minorities and military veterans. They don't care about qualification, it's about getting $$$ and promoting 'em up like a factory made generic drug. Check. Done. Check. Done.

I don't know if anyone can say what the base salary is now for Purdue.
Years ago, they paid a flat rate base of 52K without regard to previous experience.
I interviewed after more than ten years as a Hospital and Oncology rep with multiple President's Club and they were talking to me about 52K. base!!
    How cheap can you get?

Reps who previously worked for Purdue are currently being contacted. There are class action lawsuits being filed against this company. This company is in a lot of trouble. They've been under the microscope for years but pill mills and retaliation will sink this ship.

Do you know what law firm is heading this up? I would really like to share some information but have no idea who to send it on to. I have reported some serious situations to management and to the compliance officer in my region. Since doing so, my manager has repeatedly told me not to report anymore occurrences that are happening which is completely unethical. I have also tried reporting these situations on the anonymous hotline and HR has never followed up.

DA's in California, Chicago and kentucky are looking for reps to come forward and share honest information regarding misbranding, pill mill support and retaliation for reporting anything. There are already a few reps who have made contact with these DA's.
