GDS Zebulon will be closed in the next 6 months and then the final review includes bids with contract packaging organizations to handle the remaining reductions in US and UK.
Currently there are ongoing bid proposals with Fisher, Almac and Catalent but some of the deal remains at the discretion of Parexel based on who they view as the preferred vendor. GDS employees will be offered and opportunity to become part of the contract packaging operations where possible

Wow, so how many staff are at Zebulon in GDS? Something like 50? So that will be another group who will be cut, unless GSK management won't count them (as cuts) because they will transition to the contract service.

I heard comments from two Zebulon-based GDS Supply Chain managers who said that the 03-Dec announcement "did not touch the GDS operation at Zebulon".
So, for the time being, they think they're in the clear.

You can tell there is clearly no enterprise thinking applied to their "feel" as this has not had time to soak in. Nobody can "lead" from a satellite hub. It is just a matter of time before they turn out the lights there. It would come as a complete shock if Zebulon closes by Q1.

Zebulon GMS is definitely not closing since they are taking on Dolutegravir from Ware GMS. Also panadol is increasing from 200 million to 1 billion tablets a year so they have work for the next 5 years it would seem.

There is no IMS leadership in Zebulon so it is expected than any jobs would be rolled into GMS. IMS leadership is so weak there would be no need to relocate them. Strong leadership from pilot plant could definitely boost Zebulon

Did they ever get that Temple of True North rolled out? Seemed like a lot of work going nowhere.

Is everybody crystal clear on the future state now?

So an announcement has recently been made (Friday 27-Mar), that the GDS Package/Label/Distribute operations at Zebulon, Upper Providence, and Harlow are being considered to be contracted to an external provider. I presume that means redundancy notices will be in the offing for everyone working in those groups, at the three sites.

They are in full negotiations right now with Almac in Durham, NC and Souderton, PA. I've seen the initial communications from one of my contacts there. If this goes through it will like just transfer folks directly to Almac and they keep who they want and discard the rest.

True north is now south by southwest in Zebulon. Zebulon GMS will be here FOREVER.

Has there been any further news on the development of this deal? I hear Parexcel is still a top contender as well.

OMG...the ONLY reason I'd see to go after GSK would be to move incorporation into the UK for the tax advantages. GSK has no new valuable drugs to speak of, a very weak pipeline, and little to show for their ongoing reorganizations. Certainly, there could be thousands of job cuts and several site closures....is that enough? I don't feel it is.

I (for one) welcome our new Pfizer overlords. All hail Viagra and profitability. All hail two more years of chaos in deciding who stays, who goes and what IT systems we use. How much more exciting if Pfizer says goodbye to all of the rest of GSK. Come and reap the rewards that are GSK... fair and goodly overlords of Pfizer.

This would be the best outcome if Pfizer were to buy us. If you step back and listen to all of the talk about leadership that goes on and there is absolutely no action to it at all. The grandstanding would go away with these numbskulls in less than six months.
Citing a page out of a book on leadership hardly makes you a leader. There is still no general direction here. No empowerment to changes systems because the people in power truly do not want change and that is the bottom line.

I really don't see of the leadership training and meetings doing anything but wasting time. We could be achieving results if we take some meetings off the calendar
