Can someone respond to elaborate on why there are so many posting for entry level sales reps in DFW? What is the pay for entry level? I just graduated and was wondering what I might be expecting for this sales job? Who is the DSM, RSM, of this area are they pretty fair and supportive managers to work for??????

Because most obgyn's in this area are already using the swab. The way they have comm structured, you're screwed. There's is no way you'll be able to make quota. So.....you have endless reps hired in this area and endless reps fired. You will be fired. This is the most immature and unprofessional company anywhere. But....you just graduated? Then go for it. Maybe YOU can make that difference. Your base will be around 65k. No limit on commission. Seriously, the more you sell...the more comm you make. The more comm you make........the bigger your bonuses are. When you're hired, you'll be shown a very pretty little book that's filled with pictures of company cars. You get to choose one. Imagine that. All your gas paid taken care of. What are you waiting for?? C'mon!!

The fact that this company looks at recent grad with no experience speaks volumes about the company, its capabilities and what sort of professionalism exist here. They hire new grads b/c they are cheap, there is a constant turn over of reps and it would never be viewed as a resume builder for medical sales jobs that truly needed clinical understand/education.

Like the guy above said....if you're a recent grad and want to make your self some money go for it. (If you can @ 65 base) But do not rely on this job to be a long term position, it won't be and make sure you plan accordingly 3-6 months into the job. This company will not last and has nothing on the horizon. Labs are going out of biz and being bought left and right, this company has very little to offer clinically and won't last in the cutting of out of network labs and those where their same product have already been replicated by others.

What about management are they supportive do they go to bat for you? Do they motivate you. I have a friend that worked in Alabama and all she said was that VT, SH, BB, CC WERE all dumb a#%*% that only one of them even had a college degree!! That they really had done good for themselves if you consider mystery shopping at Walmart a success!

" MDL is looking to expand its sales force throughout the U.S. We are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated individual to join our sales team. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing a client base of both hospital and physician customers for MDL."

from their website. fell out of chair laughing. i really hope you go on an interview with this outfit and ask some good questions about commission, why is territory open and company car. i'm sure others here can give you better questions to ask and you can watch them squirm.

I was told that starting base is 50k and not a cent more... And that they were looking for someone very tenured who could train their less experienced representatives who actually make 65k base. The manager states that he wants "team players" that will take time out of their territory to work with the less experienced and not complain about not reaching their goals because they are having to take time out I their territory to train "newbies". The manager is apparently too busy to do his job and train his own reps.

After running a start up company, my answer is a resounding ... No Thank You!

Let's talk money or lack of money. What is the salary range for District Managers, Account Managers and Speciality. Also what's the deal with the company car? Seems to be an issue but no one seems to want to address it.

wow. 10 years ago they were offering 50k for a base. adjusting for inflation......you're screwed. And, why is their less experienced reps making 65k?? vt is the head sales guru. she started off as a wall-flower sales rep and moved up......nobody knows why. she is absolutely the worse person to be heading anything. many careers have been ruined...at least in the short term.

i think you get something like the chevy spark or something comparable. dm = 60's. am = 40's. specialty = ? everything is on the low end. owner is jewish and milks every penny to put in his pocket as much as possible. thus, low end on everything. he has ignored every warning given to him and in some cases, vt has fired people for trying to talk to him.
