Seriously dude? First of all, information disseminated within the company is not "public".

Second of all, the buy out attempt was ALREADY public. It was being covered in pretty much every news outlet. If it were "behind closed doors" the stock price wouldn't have shot up by, what was it like, 11% in an hour?

Third of all, yes, I believe it is the leadership team's JOB to update their employees on the state of the company, and that includes allaying fears brought up by stories already published in mass media.

To not address it AT ALL is utterly criminal in my mind, quite frankly, particularly when you already have a building full of people fearing for their jobs.

Glad you had time to post here, however, JRA - thanks for chiming-ah-in-ah.

 

The monday after the potential buy-out news was out, I read a communication article on the internal Zone that addressed this - if you did not read it, it may still be available. It is good to check the facts always!

Did you really expect Juan Ramon to be able to lead a company on his own without the cover of Pfizer! How naive and stupid you all are.

 

Kristen Peck, why is everyone so chicken that you can't use a person's name. You will trash their initials but be too timid to say their name?? Kristen did some really good things and some really destructive things to Zoetis.

Juan Ramon has mismanaged Zoetis since the day it went public. He did not communicate and manage the expectations of Wall Street. Investors saw the stock price sitting in low 30's for over a year and grew impatient with low gains. The first time he spoke to Wall Street he lectured them on the difference between human and animal drugs. Zoetis was totally bloated with upper management. It was only a matter of time that Zoetis would have to change.

 

Because using names violates cafe pharma terms (so do initials but never seen it called out)

 

They didn't address the buyout because they had nothing to say. It was a BS offer.

That having been said, I've never worked for a company that went from "open and honest hippie land" to silence and bullcrap so quickly. Really glad I left my stable job with big blue to hop into this nonsense.

My bad decision, of course, but still not one I'm happy about. Secure or no, the office is a depressing place to be right now. Really looking forward to all the craziness that will happen when the few people left standing get to move HQ. That should be fun.

Leadership comes in many flavors - currently not a single one of them can be found at Zoetis.

 

Y'all are talking like you expected ZTS to be Wyeth all over again. It's not. It's the same Pfizer culture, washed and repackaged. Nothing more and nothing less. At least so far ZTS hasn't started playing games with people's severences and departure dates.

For all that leaders talk about being "different" than our roots, at the end of the day, we've adopted the same models that we followed at Pfizer for all those years: milk the hell out of employees, expect no work/life balance, and then toss people out when cheaper alternatives can be found. Welcome to corporate America.

Tell you this...don't expect to see a lot of young talent sticking around, or coming in, at this point. The old guys will stay because they're earning too much not to...but the folks early in their careers? Well...if I were one of them I wouldn't be sticking around.

 

Seriously-Get a Life! I have been w/ this co. for 13 years + and yes it has been rough these last 2 years- no doubt! But, please don't insult those of us who have decided to stand by the side of Zoetis through tough times. This is a great place to work, and "WE" all have jobs that others would die for! We are paid well, have solid benefits, co cars, etc. If it was that easy, we'd be unnecessary! Suck it up or leave, it's your life and you have a choice. Personally, I would love to see you get lost, as there is no room for your negative vibes! There are lots of great people within Zoetis, we all know who "WE" are! Our product portfolio is the best in the Veterinary industry, hands down!

 

Your products are wonderful.. Overpriced amoxicillin,clavamox and carprofen, Where's the Apoquel ? Laxaire ? The place is circling the drain. Don't let that gurgling sound scare you.

You are part of the field force. You are the darlings of the company. You get whatever the hell you whine for.
"We" don't get company cars, "we" don't get to charge off our home internet (though from what I understand that's not an option any longer either for the FF), "we" don't get many of the "Fantastic benefits". Don't get me wrong - y'all bring in the income, and I'm all for that. AS an example, my team has been trying to schedule an off-site meeting for a year now, and constantly being told that there is a travel restriction in place - but don't you worry, NSM will still be the gala affair that it always is I'm sure with dancing girls and raging orgys after hours. Now don't get me wrong, my pay is good, benefits decent and so on...but just how far does that really go?

No room for your negative vibes? Tell you what tough guy, come by headquarters sometime and work here for a week and tell me how your vibe feels THEN. The field may be a great place to work, but I assure you, the offices across the country are not. In several locations people have already packed their shit and have boxes near their desks with all of their personals in them. They haven't been notified that they're losing their jobs, they're assuming.

Yes, we VC regularly - which is lovely, but not the same as an actual working session with your team. But you go on ahead thinking everything is hunky dory until the company is sold out from under you. Or SAP drives us out of business altogether. Either way.

The FF isn't currently all tulips & roses either!! We have been taking it hard out here, over & over!!!! APOQUEL/Proheart 6/backorders/ SAP/ billing screw ups.... I can go on!! I promise you that we have extremely tough skin after all of this!!!! Try taking it EVERY day, clinic after clinic & still remain positive!!! We do it...it sucks, but we do it!

Stop your whining & move on, there is no room for your kind!
