Been here 16 years but not old enough for buyout and now in local site which may be spun off.

Absolutely no innovation nor leadership in this shit hole for a company. Looking for another job and guess they could care less about my experience here.

Best quarter? At some point spine (we) had to stop losing share. Spine needs to have a little humility and rebuild organization for the future. Start with all the leadership and quit cutting all the little people.

What "little people"? Sales reps aren't being cut. You mean the little people at corporate who flood out of the building at 4PM on most days and don't work Fridays in the summer?

Leadership made bad decisions and employees paid for their incompetence. When company did poorly, they cut employees to get better "numbers" to protect their bonus. What a business innovation. Look forward to get rif or get out...

    April 14th names go in.

Don't know when rifs happen though.

Memphis getting worse there is no spine turnaround.

Until they get rid of the GE flunkies, nothing will get better. Omar is flooding upper management with GE people that have zero focus on customers or innovation. Martha is about 3 levels above his head. Doug K doesn't know enough to push back on stupid decisions that his team makes. FINALLY got rid of Garth (who would have shut Spine down if he continued). Need a new PD leader in a bad way! Hopefully Chandra will eventually run Carls off, and prepare for innovation again. The GM (Sharrolyn) will straighten it out, if they let her!

Oh, and maybe I'll avoid the RIF!

Hope we can avoid rif, but good luck with fixing PD with the current leader in place. Nuvasive, Globus, Stryker, Zimmer, and other competitors are the benefactors of the situation.

So Sharrolyn and Chandra are gonna somehow straighten it out. Riiiiiiiiiight. Marketing has already run this business into the ground and most of PD is too dumb to have taken notice. Don't be naive, it's already too late. Innovation isn't the issue anymore. Regulators have already put a stop on innovation. Sustaining will be the bigger issue soon enough.

That's next week. So sad to hear. Hope for the best!

    True!

Look at the stock prices. Globus is at an all time high. I think Nuva has hit the wall and won't go anywhere else. Zimmer has been buying companies left and right...Stryker....not much to say there.

competitors must love to see Carls running pd and biologics ......... into the ground. Chandra does not know spine enough to fix it. Previous shakeups in marketing does not help either. Then there is frequent concern about rif...... Tough problems for rtg leadership.

I am waiting for the new RTG comp plans to be announced before I make a decision on staying or leaving. 13 years with Medtronic and 20+ in the medical business. The upper RTG management is horrible. I'm sure it will be 6 weeks into the new sales year before anyone knows how bad we all will be screwed again this year! Roy's favorite saying "customers buy from Medtronic and not reps". Such a joke !!!

Exactly..."not from reps"...if that's the case, we can do away with non-compete's then....."well, not quite"

Do the math, the RIF at FY17 end is obvious. Merger allocated money runs out at the end of April and a much less than generous early retirement offer will garner fewer than needed cost cuts. The early retirement offer was a PR posture. There will be a resizing, that is very apparent and realistically needed. What will be the percentage of cuts? Will it affect all areas/divisions the same?
My facility is poorly managed and looks to be circling the drain. Make it profitable or chop it off, that's the GE way.

Process began. Will sadly see coworkers packing again. If no hope turnaround, it's just a matter of time before one's turn. Hard to focus on job when rif hanging over my head. Had enough. How about you?
