Planmeca gave up the reins of E4D effective March 27. Ivoclar is now running E4D. No one at either company knows how the new Ivoclar mill, which is bundled with the Trios Scanner will fit into the PlanFit product mix. THe Icoclar reps will be selling the new mill and the Trios scanner, but also be partnering with the E4D reps who sell a competing scanner and mill? I must be missing something here because partnering with your competition typically doesn't work too well. But what do I know.

Ivoclar is interested in obtaining patents and technology from E4D, there is no interest in keeping the operation going for much longer. As soon as the Ivoclar Mill is launched, and sold as a system with the Trios, and mated with existing Trios scanners, the whole E4D thing will go by the wayside. THis way Ivoclar eliminates a competitor, while simultaneously ending a huge money loosing operation that they have owned for years.

I find it strange that Ivoclar is selling their own mill, and paring it with the Trios scanner. They own E4D, and E4D competes with Trios, so Ivoclar is essentially competing with itself on the mill, but actively promoting and selling a competitive scanner? I didn't graduate from Wharton School of Business but this would seem like a bad idea.

Don't be embarrassed about not finishing High School. You really don't need any education to work in dental any more than working a used-car lot - evening shift.

The morals and customer ethics are about the same as in used-cars as in dental.

Just mumble and lie a lot and never write anything down.

Sorry maybe a little late to the game here but I was under the understanding that PlanMeca owned E4D not Ivoclar. When did that transaction take place?

E4D was purchased several years ago by a partnership comprised of Henry Schein, Planmeca and Ivoclar. Planmeca was the managing partner of that enterprise while Ivoclar and Henry Schein were passive partners. It seems that Planmeca has relinquished their management role of the partnership to Ivoclar who is now actively managing the day to day and long term operations of E4D. It would come as no surprise if it turned out that Ivoclar decided to purchase the ownership shares of the other two partners and then merge their Ivoclar digital brand into the former E4D.

Wow, you are able to ascertain the education level and specific career of an anonymous poster on this board. Can you explain how? Why not use your intelligence, if there is any, to advance the information contained on this board? Instead you attempt to discredit a person who is obviously anonymous to you and everyone else, which has the unantipcated consequences of making you look like an idiot. Wait, do you work for Ivoclar?
