Honest advice. If you are truly considering joining an organization - don't look to cafe pharma for insight. Ask the hiring manager and senior leadership (if you interact with them) all the tough questions you may have, and trust your gut. This site isn't really the place for honest feedback.

    My two cents.

normally I'd agree with the previous poster on each of those points. But, in this case, I'd say 99.9% of what you see here is accurate.

Find someone at your level /comparable role and ask them if they'd join the company now. Watch them, listen for the pause, searching for those words ... ah, what do I tell them ???

    There's your answer.

Normally this is correct but in this case CP is VERY accurate. A couple of truths you can ask about:
    1. Did Abdhay really have Jesper (old COO) really escorted out of building by guards and with no notice?

    2. Did Adhay really F bomb a female employee in a meeting in front of others and then refuse to apologize and then HR did NOTHING?

    3. Have several high level executives recently leave over concerns of off label marketing practices?

    4. Do you really not give any stock options?

    5. Is your 401k match really that big of a joke?

Just 5 so far you can verify for yourself. There are more but that should be enough.

    1. Unsure if escorted out by guards, I highly doubt it. But ... it was absolutely without any notice and handled extremely poorly with the employees, as he interviewed and hired nearly 150 people in the BU.
    2. Yes, true. Many f-bombs among other very inappropriate comments.
    3. Yes. Period.
    4. None at all.
    5. Yes.

#1 Yes very true and walked by my desk with 2 security guards in tow.

    All the rest is true.

One drug (15% market share) and the position was filled.

Shitty! Regional managers are about as clueless as they get. If youre thinking about Sun Ophthalmology run fast! You have to be out of your mind!

What about the VPs and East/West Directors? They seem to have good experience in ophthalmology? Are working for the Indians that bad where they can't control what they do in the U.S. ?

Indian management due to culture has no clue about US markets. Its not a matter of controlling, its a matter of not understanding how to do business in the US. Some of the personnel have good experience in the US, but Opth has 1 drug in the portfolio. Low market share and sales people who really are not selling it. There were 3 anti-inflammatory NSAID that came out in 2017 alone! Prior to that Allergan and Alcon had most of the market. There are problems with NSAIDs for post surgical healing etc. Bromsite is more a "me too" drug. Unless the doc loves you, they will prescribe others. Good luck. I talked to them awhile ago when they were hiring for the Bromsite launch. They scared me away! No thank you. If youre ambitious and are driven by making money; this is not the place for you. It wasnt for me!

Thanks for those thoughts! Me too products just don't cut it in Ophthalmology anymore. Enough of those. It's all about innovation.

You have to understand the Indian culture. They dont value people and they dont care to create a good US based culture. People in India beg for a job, the higher ups dont get that in the US we dont have to do that. They think that we should be running through walls just for a salary. They also dont value women the same as men. They have arranged marriages in their country and women are 2nd class citizens. As long as an Indian is running the company it will suck. That isnt being prejudiced that is being truthful.

Innovate what? Can't reinvent the wheel. Perhaps delivery systems for better efficacy due to lack of patient compliance could be innovative but even that is explored with implants. The next good Glaucoma drug will be Aerie's drug due out next year sometime. That very well will capture the most market share. Combo drug and it's new! Easy to sell that! There is absolutely zero innovation out of the ophthalmic group at Sun! ZERO!

Aerie's drug will capture the most market share. Are you high? Obviously, you don't know anything about glaucoma. "Doctor don't worry about a little bleeding of the conj" That is going to work well.
