What's up in Oncology? People are quitting because there are WAY TO MANY MERCK ONCOLOGY REPS, yet new openings are being created. Lynparza team expansion. More expansion. WTF, What is going on? Who is coming here? What's the point. I don't get it

You must understand that the concept of more is better is engrained in the moronic body of marketing and management. When you continue to waste resources it is a sign of success internally.

Genentech and other Oncology innovators have their HQ and marketing teams spend 1 year as a oncology sales rep in a territory - so they can actually see the real world and make smart decisions for their company. Merck Oncology, can you implement this?

Great job if you get in. Reps don’t do much and get paid more. Some complain about too many reps in the field. Merck does that to create a backstabbing environment where teammates throw you under the bus to make themselves look better. The reps can’t handle more than one indication at a time because of their inferior brain power. But that doesn’t matter because they get paid more for doing less.

4 up in a territory with an Emend overlay, 2 OSKAM's, a Nurse Educator, a Reimbursement Associate, a Reimbursement Manager, a CTL, an OMAD, an HSOMAD, a specialist in bio-marker testing, a DCO, a field trainer and a group of marketing talking heads that always want to tag along in the field. Did I get all the stakeholders who want to glad hand all the customers? Those customers who don't really even want to see one rep. Oh, I forgot the NAE and Managed Care Pajama champions.

You are spot on! It is a living nightmare! I am disgusted by senior leaders hiring more reps. One rep can handle all indications in a territory. If there were two reps it would provide slightly better coverage of targets. More than that we are just pissing off our accounts. Too many chefs in the kitchen leads to a terrible tasting sauce. We need to cut the inexperienced reps and improve our interactions with customers. Our company always prides itself on listening to our customers. They have spoken, and it continues to fall on deaf ears. It is hurting access with too many reps in a territory!

There's plenty of room for good access. The low drive wimps that complain better realize you'll be fired real soon. Big changes coming if you're ranked in bottom 30%. You pricks make folks like me look damn good. Thanks !

Yeah sure, we can emulate that. Gene is about to have massive head count reductions. You want that too?

Genentech may be a sign of what’s to come. Oncology products are overpriced and our industry is under a lot of a scrutiny. We can’t afford to continue paying four reps to do one experienced reps job. Significant cost reduction with little/no negative impact to business.

You will be quite surprised in a very short while. Management is currently evaluating all Oncology personnel with the goal of a 75% reduction in headcount to be in place by January first. You don't know that the Managers have already been culled and those removed have been placed in other nononcology positions.

Too many people in charge that are clueless. Primary care mentality with all the metrics garbage.

Really? With an expansion across many roles planned for January 1st? THEN they are going to cut 75%? Also by January 1st? That's why cafepharma is bullshit. Yes, I will be very surprised if that happens. Trolls

I'm excited to see everyone from HQ and Marketing up on the big stage next week in San Diego! Hope you can pronounce the drug names and competitor names this time, people! Can't wait to hear what you all have planned out for us in the next few months....maybe we will get something better than a little Hawaii bottle opener keychain when we arrive?

You are so ungrateful. Like your big paycheck and car are not enough...especially when you can't even see 1/2 of your Doctors. Please have some gratitude for even getting a bottle opener. Get a little perspective!
