    Nice cars--all leather--fully loaded
    Volvo
    GMC 2018 Terrain
Subaru SUV and a few others.
    Rogue

    It's a nice list...

    I don't believe any 18K sign on.

One has to take the 10% company 401K match into consideration too.

As with any new drug, not just Amgen's, there are managed care challenges. We always work through them. Also, I haven't read about any safety issues whatsoever, and the thought leaders say nothing about them as I've seen some data. It's bitter reps who were turned down who continue to bring this up.

Good luck to all. Amgen is an awesome company.

Agree on DMs lack of knowledge. One of the SE DMs- Keith, was furiously taking notes in his little book during the interview. It was almost as if I was giving him questions to ask his boss.
He was new to Amgen, but some of the stuff he didn’t know was elementary. I was offered a position and accepted, but it looks like another position where I have to teach my boss about the marketplace, and also some basic things that you need to know about product launches. Nice guy, but I’m a little surprised after our lengthy talk at home much he didn’t have an answer to.

    Here we go!

DC was ridiculous. Experience was discounted. It appeared that what was preferred were brain dead primary care reps and routing and learning a call script would be the most important aspects to success. Not very impressive manager hires, district or regional.

Yes he sold injectable sumatriptan. He is going to lose reps left and right once they get to know him. They will be asking themselves WTF did I do?

wow. I get that CP is a place to bitch, but with all of the noise around the recruiting, its fairnto say where there’s smoke there’s fire.

There are some bitter people out there, but there are also some key insight into the way that these DMs and RDs work.

I work here, and didn’t participate in this hiring process. I hope this launch goes better than sone of the recent flops.

Almost all internal hires are tired old enbrel dms/rds/reps. Haven’t sold in decades. This is absolutely a primary care mentality, so it doesn’t matter.

Any new stories emerging of candidates receiving offers, and how your process unfolded? If you met with RD, how long did it take for offer to be extended? The process seems to be different for everyone. I am hoping it is based on the timing of interviews in relation to other candidates for the same territory. Had a great interview experience yesterday. Still waiting to hear.......

Amgen should have cherry picked Merck cgrp folks to be on the exec team. There was a group of wicked smart people with telcagepant that would have assembled a proper sales team. I heard they hired one in marketing but that doesn't help those of us interviewing for sales. DC was a joke.

I don’t mean to be harsh, but if you read through this thread virtually everyone feels that they had a great interview. What have we learned over the last couple of days? There have been some good hires, there have been some hirings of people who simply worked with the new district manager in the past, we have learned that some people didn’t even need to go to the hiring event, and were hired regardless of their experience with migraine.
We’ve also learned that a lot of candidates were astonished by the lack of basic knowledge from the district managers that were interviewing them; granted, a lot of them are new to the company, but there is no excuse for stupidity with basic questions. Finally, we’ve learned that some people were offered positions after meeting with the RD, and some people were offered positions without meeting the RD. We’ve also learned that there seems to be a ceiling at 120k in salary.

Good luck to all of those that were hired – you’re going to need it, because once the CV side effects become widely known, the competition is going to eat your lunch.

curious to find out if I’m the only one in this situation—I’ve been informed that I have an offer waiting, however—it is not the position I applied for & live in?ive got a tough decision to make.

....but if they call you with an offer you won’t be able to squeal “YES!” fast enough. Right.

Curious to know if anyone else had experienced this—I’ve been informed that I have an offer WAITING but it may not be for the territory I applied for? Tough decision to make.

Seriously??? Now why would they tell you there’s an offer ‘waiting’, but not offer it?!? You are a stupid, idiotic little r*****.

has anyone from the Chicago area received an offer? I was told there will be an additional interview with the new DM possibly next week. It was great to fly out to LA to not meet with any decision makers.

Correction, Avanir does not have injectable Sumatriptan, they promote the powder form that you blow up your nose thru a mouthpiece. No one in my area uses it because patients don't understand how to properly it. Promius Pharma has 3mg Sumatriptan, single-use auto-injector that some Neuro's like and use a lot but Avanir's product has done nothing. Why hire a manager from this company who has failed to get any marketshare?
