Started on the Entresto contract cuz I needed a job. Knew when I first met my NVS mgr that PDI would never have any value in their mind. I thought I could tough it out, but it's gotten increasingly worse. My Cv2 rep can't do anything on their own without my input. So far, ive played the game and helped my cv2 with almost everything. Now, i' m just so tired of helping the cv2 with every report, with almost everything and getting absolutely NO recognition. I'm afraid if I stop helping I'll get fired for some reason. I need a paycheck til I can find another job. Soooo frustrated when cv2 takes credit for my work.

I read and feel your frustrations.
It’s about being a great teammate!
Novartis hired quickly last year and some would not be hired if the interview was now. Inner pride and confidence may open a new job for you.

same here CV 2 rep wants me to make s business plan and set up action plan as our group not doing well in NE.
I told them nicely I get paid about half of what you get with all their benefits I’m not the quarter back I’m here to be on the team but not going to be taken advantage of. Probably sealed my doom but not going to be taken advantage of.
Just seems that many of the Novartis people have no communication skills and no sense of urgency.
Looking for new opportunity but so frustrated

Cv2 reps are not pdi' s managers!!! Your cv2 rep should not be telling you what to do.

I keep a low profile and I do my job. I hardly ever even speak to my cv2. Just enough so she can't go to mgr and report me.

I was on this contract and left after 1 year. It's has been like this since day one. The turn over is well over 70% of the original sales force since the beginning and most of the original reps are long gone. RC's and Publicis don't seem to care or even attempt to try to to do the right thing, Publicis was not transparent from the beginning in telling the PDI Reps for what / how you were going to be treated during the contract. They should have at least told the sales force you will be assumed you have "NO" Industry experience and will be treat accordingly. I think many would not have signed up for the contract. On one conference call we even heard a NVS ABL tell the NVS reps don't be afraid to push PDI reps around because they are not up to par.
RC keep dangling the "roll-over" carrot for you guys too which as you know....that's not going to happen. Beside why would you want to work long term for a company that is completely disrespectful of their contract employees you will never be treated w/ respect but as the "red headed step child". Many Reps left because they got a "rookie" ABL and were treated like tackling dummies to practice their management training on. This was not told to the reps either, again not transparent. Unfortunately the reps that are still there have no choice but to put up w/ it or leave, it's a very tragic situation after 2+ years and it sounds like the contract was extended so "buckle-Up" the beatings will continue until you put your foot down and leave. I will say for me, it was the worst work experience I have ever experienced and glad I am gone there is life after that mess and you will be much happier, calmer and have a better quality of life no matter what ever you do post NVS. If you don't respect yourself no one else will.

I have a CV1 rep that's a total embarrassment at programs. Drinks like a fish and when the program is over, slurs their words and can hardly walk. No idea how this person doesn't get a dui. Wish that some hcp would report this rep to the company. I've been approached by many hcps asking what their problem is. SO tempted to ask 1 of them to report this rep to the co. But so far, ive just allowed them to continue to embarrass themself.

Highly doubt that this actually happens this way but if you feel a need to embellish..you go ahead.

Why in the world would someone post this if it weren't true? I know the cv1 rep that's referred to here and I've seen it happen at every single program I've attended where this particular cv1 rep is in attendance. This cv1 rep overlaps several pdi and cv2 territories and the pdi reps involved have spoken about it after every program and each and every time, both are astonished at how drunk the cv1 rep gets. Absolutely pathetic.

Call your local PD as the next program concludes with a plate number and their address so they can be pulled over on the way home... They’ll most assuredly get a dui or if the police arrive in time, arrested in front of everyone for being drunk in public. Problem solved

Sorry to hear about your situation.

Best move is to just look for something outside of the contract world. I was a manufacturer rep for about 10 years, and then took contact with the industry hit the fan in 2010. Going to the contract world was the worst decision I ever made. Not only has it ruined my resume, but these contract companies have given me no respect even though I put up great numbers and had top evaluations.

Just move on. I have. Not only am I doing well in my new industry (selling medical supplies) financially, but I get treated with more respect.

In short, pharmaceutical industry is for losers these days. Just look around you. Look at the management in these companies. The reps are terrible as well. I will be in management in my new industry in a few years, and I won't look at most pharmaceutical reps to hire, unless they can answer detailed selling questions. Unfortunately, most pharmaceutical reps don't know how to sell.

What is worse? The managers don't know how to sell either. That includes the district and regional managers and VP of sales types. Its just a bad place to be these days, and you seem to have finally recognized that.

    Good luck.

    very true.
worst part of the game is the energy wasted looking for a job in this puke of an industry.

Find good people to work with, and they are not going to be in pharmaceuticals or in over 90 percent of any publicaly traded companies.

Here is the truth that few consider: Money is not the most important important aspect of work. Find a company that will develop you and treat you like an adult. That will mostly be with private companies or family run companies.

True, however I think there are public companies that will treat you equal to your experience level and like an adult. Let's face it, hopefully a company is hiring you for your experience knowledge and wants to take advantage of it. Unfortunately this is not the Industry or place.

What the RC's and NVS haven't realized yet is that every time one of the NVS personnel acts like a foolish child we quit working for a week. This contract, NVS has lost more man hours than any contract I have seen. Each episode at this point is not even demotivating since it's become the normal however each time one of these clowns do something childish I just smile and think "fine, I'll do your work and then just drive around for a week 2 hours a day fudging calls." Works out fine. Just smile, smirk and take it out w/ wasted call hours.

You’re the bigger fool for taking this contract seriously. Collect the paycheck and nothing more nothing less. What ties do you have to NVS? What do you get in case you get the layoff phone call?

Did you read the whole post? That’s exactly what’s going on.... no one is taking it seriously...

Stupid Novartis and Syneos need to start giving incentives to people that want full time positions with the manufacturer.

If not, then set better boundaries and start treating people with more professional respect.

This is a good post for all young and naive professionals to read. Study what is being stated here, and don't let these companies abuse you, as they are doing now.
