I was in san office the other day and the Periodontt said, "I spoke to regional manager at Nobel and he said that Danaheris gonna be completely hands off." I said, so you think they spent 2.4 billion dollars to be hands off??? He was pretty quiet after that. God Nobel is so good at spin! This time their bluff is gonna be called for the whole world to see. Gonna be good

    So, big business strategist.

YOU think Danaher paid 2.4 billion to mess with a company that is number one in the world and has been for the greater part of 50 years.

You guys hang your hopes on Nobel faltering and see where it gets ya

I'd go sell something else bc NB is the best in the implant sector and it isn't changing

Just like 3m, Colgate, crest dentsply Patterson and achein

Some companies are just here for the long haul

Hahaha. Yep. No one on here because the Nobel reps are actually out sellin and supporting their surgical partners.

I just quit straumann bc in my market it was Nobel or Zimmer.

I got on with another big company so no hard feelings but I couldn't get in to see those Nobel discs to save my life.

You couldn't get past the front desk with Straumann on your business card, but some other company hired you??? Wow, I feel sorry for that company getting a dud like yourself.

    Hey Smarty,

Nobel's stock was down 80% at the time Danaher purchased your bleeding company.

Hahaha! Danaher doesn't buy companies that are thriving! They buy companies that are struggling and incorporate their business system to turn profits around through synergies!

I'm sorry but maybe a little business 101 and some light google searching will help you.

I have a question for Nobel reps. What are you gonna say when a Surgeon says I want Implant Direct pricing for my Nobel implants?? Is Danaher gonna tell you to say no? Or will Daddy ask you to refer him/her to ID rep?? After all, you are two separate entities right?? I am sure Danaher will do right by you..........hahahahahahahahaha. Delusional!!!

To piggy back on this brilliant post... Nobel reps are in for a rude awakening. Consider the Danaher biz model. If a dollar spent will NOT project to bring back 'X' amount of ROI within a short period of time, then the funding for said project will not be approved. Meaning, so long to those fluff programs designed to appease and maintain relations with a HCP.

Also, those flashy booths that you are used to, kiss those goodbye. Those small evening programs for CE hunters, goodbye. The industry is turning, regulations are taking hold. With a stock price that was in the tank along with the regulations soon to be implemented across the board made Nobel and attractive buy. Why, because it's exactly the biz model of Danaher. Spend as little as possible to deliver the highest ROI.

The mantra of "You have to spend money to make money" does not apply at Danaher.

Pretty tight lipped right now but should have more info in the coming weeks. There will be some kind of partnership but what that partnership will be remains to be seen.

NB and ID are having sales meeting together this coming year. This should get interesting.

Word is mangement is being down sized and and making district areas larger. Some managers forced to carry a bag or out of a job.

The past few years have actually seen districts increase, with Nobel ADDING several new regional Managers amd Procera Specialists along with 50 plus head count on reps

Overall Nobel has been gaining market share without having to incorporate a low cost offering

Good docs know that the Science sides with Nobel. We have been at this long enough for all of us to know that Nobel has solid 10 year retrospectives etc etc the ITI is putting out studies showing Nobel Procera abutments being superior to Straumann ....Danaher has let them do their thing...and the digital partnership with Icat and Kavo is promising to say the least

Looks like Nobel will continue to run strong for the foreseeable future as long as docs continue to care about Science and Quality for their patient base

Science and Quality? So Implant Direct is NOT quality? There is no science?? Their surface treatment goes back to 1992 with CoreVent and Paragon, same as Zimmer surface treatment. Their internal hex was patented in 1986 by Niznick, founder of Implant Direct. Am I missing something? The only reason Nobel and Straumann have higher prices is not "reasearch". It's more reps, more podium power, more marketing, more tradeshow dollars, more BS. This is a mature technology. The implants work. If you think Nobel implants work better than Implant Direct, you are being taken for a ride.

its several factors but yes Nobel quality is superior to ID.

Nobel uses a medical grade titanium. ID does not. Period

also Nobels restorative solutions are superior, their digital workflows are superior, their reps are superior, their science and RD is superior, etc etc etc

Could go on and on and on.....They are the Yankees vs some random farm team. Period
