Mass exodus at CMF? Veteran rep of the year and tenured RM quit within the same week? What's the deal?

the veteran departure pretty much sums this place up- a dumpster fire. we are screwed. I am actively looking to get out of this here, I was on the fence before but the pay system here is amateur.

why would you leave?? Its not like Synthes or KLS has out innovated us. We each have strenghts and weaknesses. My only wish is fo some crappy thoracic products but thats about it. Our commission rates are crazy low. My synthes counterpart makes 11% and my KLS rep make 12% because he has been here forever.

I actually think we do some ninja level contracting work to lock out marketshares in at hospitals. If you jump ship where you going? React to me!!!!

All the CMF companies have pluses & minuses but basically the same product portfolios. 9 of 10 surgeons don’t care what plates & screws they use, as long as they work. CMF has become a total commodity and it has come down to price and/or contracts. I got out a few years ago and don’t regret it. I loved CMF, they were fun cases and cool docs, but when my selling ability & relationships are taken out of the equation by purchasing it was a no brainer to leave. This whole industry has become scary because clinical decisions are being made by prices & administrative assistants!

our contracting is kind of a joke. if you work with your counterpart in another division you are both looking to kind of screw the other guy by keeping your prices strong and making them reduce theirs for business. when I leave I'm going to a different device company and out of cmf all together.

yep, spine is going the same way. the bean counter MBA says a screw is a screw is a screw and no surgeon corrects him because let's face it, most pedicle screws have become commodities too.

Yes you r***** all you do is cash checks...sure.

Look the best way for you to survive is piggy back off your trauma guys. If you are in an area where your trauma usage is dominated by us then your CMF will be good to great usually unless you are a total idiot. If your are is Synthes dominant trauma area then expect to be beat down by your Synthes CMF guy. Usually thats the rule of thumb I have seen over the last decade. The two usually go hand in hand and often end up contractually together in the end. In the end the Ortho Trauma wags the dog.

TC and ML respected and killing it?! that is absolutely priceless. both have files in HR with plenty of black marks. im sure one of them wrote that post of course. the only thing they are 'killing it' in is killing their chances of hitting quota. haters gonna hate. better get out and sell some vsp boys, youre going to need it. what a bunch of arrogant pricks at stryker. good luck with all your new hires! target quotas ensure a strong and satisfied sales force. sling some more mandible plates while you think your business is locked up. ask yourself- are you sure youre customers are really yours? better get back at it...

are you drunk or just mentally challenged? Big ML is a force that’s going to lead Stryker CMF to the top here in the Northeast & you should probably be careful what you say. We know who you are talkin ish & you’re already on thin ice. It’s just a matter of time before you’re gone. You provide no value to this team & you probably should just quit you loser. You couldn’t convert a surgeon if your life depended on it.
