So after this morning's WebEx call, what are people doing now?

Besides drinking and updating their resumes.....

So did the WebEx say "no calls on any HCPs until the lawsuits are settled?" What I heard...

Looking in disbelief at the email we just received...Q3 Call Planning.

This is Purdue making it look like we are all still working...Probably to meet the legal requirements of the Shionogi contract.

Agree with this post especially the last sentence of your post "been time to move on for a while now".....especially when 55 % - 60% of the field sales force was laid off in early February 2018.

This round of layoffs should NOT be a surprise to anyone.....

For layoffs - do you think 100 % of the remaining sales force including DMs and RBDs???

    The beginning of the end?

    1. What about when the AG from Maine was going to sue us in 2001 because of the Opioid epidemic in ME? Then we gave him gobs of money and he said "never mind"
    2. What about sending people to Toppers with 1, or 2 or 3 docs writing all their scripts
    3. What about going 0-11 in new product launches?
    4. What about creating an entire division (HSD), then having to dissolve it ?
    5. What about the national meeting "School of higher EARNING"
    6. What about the face of this greed, that big, fat slob JL? Him telling the Sacklers the Oxy sells itself
    7. What about turning a blind eye to pain mills

No, the beginning of the end was a long time ago

My manager is still in denial, as are the rest of my team. They are talking about the adhd meds and oncology like they will be launched tomorrow. Wake the F up! No drugs will be launched under this company, the end. We are talking feds and wire taping, we are being sued by commonwealths! It’s over, move on.

what about the fact that when you get a new job in a month after purdue gets rid of you. Imagine you walk in an office under New company and call on same docs same area. Doc still sees you as the purdue rep and fbi still interviewing and trying to bait you. You can still get called into the law suits...........think about that!!! Your career in pharma is over unless you want to tip toe around your docs and not say how you really feel about the company.
    This is not right!!!

Ive been througha lot of layoffs and crypric calls over the past twenty years but today's call was by far the strangest most unreal call of them all. The FBI is likely to call you, stay home if you want to, Make sure to finish up your administrative duties including expense reports, We are putting your top MDs on No call lists, we may or may not eliminate the entire sales force soon...uh huh. I didn't think we could get more ridiculous, I stand corrected.

So I thought we weren’t supposed to be engaging in opioid discussions but after today’s call they pretty much admit That docs “see” our face and think about opioids........so now do we go into hiding until all the lawsuits settle??? I don’t want to get drug into any trial especially once I start working somewhere else.

My Advice: Do not make another call until we get the final decision next week. They basically said as much, We are all being looked at as potential witnesses and MDs think of us as the enemy at this point. Hence the new NO CALL lists.

Obviously I am not going out....we are pretty much in hiding! My concern is this lawsuit will go on for months/years and when you lose your job next week then go work somewhere else. This nightmare will follow us!

I understand your concern and if you plan on staying in the "pain" business I would definitely be on edge. There really aren't many "pain" gigs left and why would we really want to stay in this miserable sector? Best advice is never mention this experience again other than the obvious interview questions and move on quickly because we are all better than this!

They want us nowhere near these doctors who are now being visited by the attorney generals of each state suing Purdue. That’s why they don’t want us making calls on certain doctors and of course it’s all the ones who were the biggest writers of OxyContin...the whales!! Don’t worry Purdue, the doctors you turned your back on when the $hit hit the fan are now going to be questioned about your shady ways! Between the docs and all the reps you let go after you hired their replacements should get Karma coming home to roost!

Pain pharma reps are last in the pecking order. Worst job all: Biologics, Oncology, cardio/metabolic, respiratory, derm, etc.
