I fear my own outcome and contemplate my future and the financial relanigications but I also sincerely pray for everyone too. No one deserves this. Whoever is affected, including myself if that is meant to be, may everyone find an even better opportunity quickly. God is good and we all need to believe we will all be ok.

I hope we all can agree to support one another during this terrible time. This is someone’s livelihood and can cause a great deal of agony and financial woes. Wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. Whomever is affected, let’s vow to help those people in any way we can in terms of getting a better job with leads and personal recommendations. This is when these people will need the greatest help so it’s important if you are one of the lucky ones that makes it through the cut to remind yourself how scary it would be if you lost your job and how you would appreciate the support and help from your coworkers. We are all in this together as reps and this certainly isn’t any reps fault. God bless all.

Actually we all aren’t in it together. Limited amount of jobs here and in the market. My family comes before yours, sorry. I can give a shit about yours.

Thanks for ruining what was a great thread. You don’t work here and I’m sincerely telling you that karma will get you in the end. That is a promise.

Good luck to all. Let’s not listen to the idiot above. Support one another.

No one “sincerely” cares about the other person. If there’s only 1 job available, you’re going to be Mr. Nice Guy? Once cuts happen, no one will ever speak to those laid off reps again. Fact

Would you rather Genentech give you “thoughts and prayers” or a decent severance package?

Maybe a bit too dramatic. Jobs come and go. Many folks had a nice long run at Genentech. But we are not of a generation where we expect jobs for life. The economy is doing really well right now.

If you get a package lucky you! Use that time to rethink your career and find another opportunity.

Sure it's hard losing a job but it happens so many times to so many people I just think a little optimism and common sense will help you along. If you worked at Genentech it means a) you 99% sure have a college degree and b) you have work experience at a top and well known company

    the sky is not falling

Agreed the economy is doing real well. Should be able to buy a lot with that extra $1.50 a week in tax cuts. Could maybe buy a Costco membership. Jobs are plentiful also. Plenty of 45K contract jobs on the market!

$1.50 in tax cuts? Funny for me its an extra $390 per month. Covers my lease for my BMW

You’re an idiot. Until you walk in someone’s else’s shoes stop giving your biased opinion. You have diarrhea of the mouth. There are people that changed their whole lives for this opportunity that doesn’t need to be discussed other than hug changes are not made for a two year gig. Now you go and get real as you need to come back down to Earth vs your fairyland. You are the type blowhard that thinks they know everything. Pathetic.

Did the signed offer letter say “At Will Employee” or “Guarantred 2 year contract”? If At Will, you’re SOL

Would you just go away? Seriously! How many people on here have to tell you this before you get it in that big ape skull of yours? Go away. You’re like a fly. Such a pest that is enjoying this in some perverted way. Yes everyone is considered an at will employee. We all get that. You know something? You’re a true asshole. Someone that likes rubbing salt into someone wound. Just leave this thread especially if you aren’t affected. You’re not helping anyone other than be a complete dick. It says a lot about you as a person and what would incentivize someone to keep leaving posts like yours. I agree with the other posts. It may not happen now or 6 months from now or even 5 years from now, but your bad actions will come back on you and I hope they do.

That troll doesn't even work for GNE so just ignore him. So sorry the Ocre group is being treated in such a shabby manner. At least with BOLD there was a reason even if the methods were questionable. Hang in there and know that many people DO care.

Keep the emotions out of it. Just making sure you know that you are At The Will of Genentech.

Hey bud. Just stay off the site. Your comments are not welcomed. Here’s hoping you get canned. Obviously not here at Genentech but wherever the hell you work. Keep your nose out of peoples business.

I do work here. I don’t want people hanging their hats on a lawsuit. Has no leg to stand on. At Will pal.

Agreed. All pharma reps are at will. Don’t think there is any ground to stand on with a legal challenge.

That is correct. Anyone who believes otherwise should be canned for stupidity.
