During interviews with recruiters and Aerie we were told bonus dollars would average $36,500... been a while since I took math but in order to average a number doesn't there have to be some individuals over that amount??? Yes I realize we did not work the whole year but even when you pro rate the numbers they still don't work out. Not even close. They must have included the dollar amount executives received when they cashed in some of their stock recently to get that number of $36,500. A lot of good reps regretting the move and looking to leave based on PAY. In almost 8 months of selling most reps made less than $10,000 in bonus. That is sad and says a lot about what a company thinks of their sales force... my advice would be to stay where you are at and don't take the job unless you are unemployed

I couldn’t agree more! For a company launching a product, this is a joke! I love how we where told they are changing our bonus structure. Please, happy holidays enjoy your joke of a bonus! Keep cashing in stock leadership team.

C-Level will be laughing at all of us while we get pennies in our x-mas stockings for bonuses. They will be rolling in the dough from their recent Aerie share dumps, getting out and taking their money off the table.
Could that be a vote of "no-confidence" in the company or just plain greed?
What are Vince & Casey gonna do with all those millions they made from cashing in their Aerie shares?
    Feed the poor?
Help some of those folks in CA who lost their homes to fires?
    or
Buy another 25,000 sq ft mansion or another mega-yacht?
    "Greed is Good!"

That is an understatement... why is the leadership team not held accountable for the lies they told us??? We expected close to the bonus amount they shared with us in order to get us over here... we didn't know it was a scam... had we known the truth they would not have been able to hire anyone... yes we work to help patients but the most important reason why we work is to support ourselves and our families... last time i checked most of us in the sales force dont have millions of dollars in company stock to make up for this shit bonus we are about to get... something needs to change ASAP unless they want to hire a new sales force. Have not talked with anyone here who has ever been bonuses so low let alone during a launch...

I am so happy to see someone is bringing up the elephant in the room. I have been in pharma for over 15 years and launched several products in eye care. The bonus money during a launch has always been a motivating factor but no one is excited about the bonus here that are no more than bread crumbs. Though I like selling Rhopressa, I too would not have left my previous employer had I known my 2018 bonus money would be so low. My family situation is a little unique as I am the main provider for my household. My family has always counted on my disciplined efforts in the field to produce bonuses much larger than the average payout the company intends to pay. Instead, I am working harder and smarter than ever before and extremely stressed out because though my numbers say I am doing quite well the bonus dollars being received on Friday say I am doing awful. My families Christmas will be effected. I don't know how to break the news to them that the leadership team at the company i decided to join lied to me about the money I would be making in regards to commission potential. I have been told "Gary always does what's right" I don't know how many times since I got here. Well he can show us this Friday by not slapping me in the face with that tiny check and paying me and my family AT LEAST the average payout for my efforts so we can have a decent Christmas in my house. I agree with the original post 100% that a leadership team shows their salesforce how much they care by paying good bonuses for their sales forces edforts. Your laughable forecasting, lack of coverage, coupon debacle should not penalize our efforts. Look at Vyzulta numbers and then look at ours. We are outperforming and It is not even close. Pay us like B&L pays them. It seems as if the leadership team at Aerie feels bonus payments to sales reps is a way for the company to cut costs and save money. How many reps are above the average payout for the upcoming bonus check Gary? Do the math and then do the right thing.

Wow. This is great stuff and so true. Can someone at corporate make sure Vince, Tom, Rubino and Gary read this thread?

In all my years in the industry I have never posted on cafepharma... I would occasionally pop on here to get a laugh or to listening to the whining and fighting. I always thought it was for people that were already fired or for people that were about to be fired to voice their complaints. The story above really tugged at my heart strings though because I am in a very similar situation. I was not looking for a job when Aerie came knocking. I was doing just fine making more than the average bonus payout every quarter. Taking this job has hurt my families financial situation. Christmas will be much smaller for us as well this. The bonus payout by Aerie is responsible for this. Though "they say" bonuses will be getting better, it will be hard for me and many others to forget how we were treated and paid during launch.

Can you idiots hear the violin I'm playing for you while you wipe the tears from your eyes cause you were thinking Aerie would be lining your pockets with gold! How stupid are you people?????????????

How are we stupid? We trusted what Aerie told us in regards to the average bonus payout. Most companies live up to that. How were we supposed to know they were lying?

This is not a big pharma company with big pockets.
Aerie is burning through its cash flow on borrowed money.
    Yeah, I get that.
But what I don't get is all the shares that Vince, Casey and the others cashed out in the millions earlier this year.
Before they laid the bombshell on us that we were not going to be close to hitting our sales numbers.
I took a pretty big pay cut to come here because I figured: it's a new company with a brand new sales force launching a brand new drug.
That's called a "ground floor opportunity."
I rolled the dice and so, it didn't go the way I had hoped it would.
    I own it.
But it's not the field's fault that management effed up the sales projections and over-promised to wall street.
Vince, Casey and the others have been living high on the hog long before this drug was even launched. Before they even came to Aerie.
How much of the sweet life do they need???
And then they go and cash in MILLIONS of dollars worth of Aerie stock in the summer.
What they gonna do with all that loot?
Don't they have enough fancy goodies?
They ought to say, sorry sales force, we effed up the sales forecast.
Let us make it right and give you a "forgive us" bonus plus a "retention" bonus so you stick around for the next launch.
We'll pay for it out from our own filthy rich pockets.
    Not from our lenders' money.
No instead, it's some dumb ass spiff, make 10 calls a day or else and you're just not getting enough depth and breath - that's why your sales suck.
And if I hear that damned sales model one more time...
    Happy Holidays Leadership Team
Your mismanagement and greed are killing morale in the field.
Not good when you have another drug to launch in the not so distant future.

Why is everyone freaking out? I tell everyone when it is brought up that Gary will do the right thing and take care of us. Hence the email this morning. Gary always takes care of his sales force when there is an issue and our comp/Bonus was a major issue since launch

F Gary, what type of company has months to prepare for our 11/21 bonus payout. Then suddenly changes the date. It’s not like the bonus will be that much. It can’t be that hard to figure it out! Get your shit together. They probably used the same consultants that projected those unrealistic forecast. Happy holidays!

Are you kidding me? Tim dropped the ball with our company cars. We don’t have Satalite radio... seriously? What type of car doesn’t have sat? The dealership said it would only be $50 to upgrade it. Generic.... must me the Aerie way! Can’t listen to Howard, but the flat Ronnie will be nice.
