It was very disappointing! Most reps made more money for the new hire training. I’m in the top 20%. For a company launching a product this bonus was a slap in the face. This has been a very successful launch. We’ve beat most products launch to date. But nothing is good enough. I’m sorry you have unrealistic expectations. The leadership team clearly doesn’t understand the glaucoma market or opthalmology at all. Glaucoma is slow moving. To expect a new product to beat established products that have decent coverage is the definition of insanity. Leadership team, what happened to you? Zero accountability, and unrealistic expectations. Happy holidays, I bet you made a decent bonus or a ton of money when you cashed in your stock options. The moral sucks. Do you really think You’ll retain a sales force with payouts like these? I’d like to quote one of our leaders whose been very quite since her last motivation speech.... You’re Disappointments!

I personally know 3 reps not including myself that are now looking for new opportunities after today. word of advice to leadership. Cutting costs by not paying your sales force is not a good sales model.

They don't care about the sales force. Their goal now is to ensure a successful launch of Roclatan and to put lipstick on a pig with regards to their future pipeline.

You think they care about the sales force? Hiring and firing field sales is par for the course. You're a commodity and you'll have a job until you're no longer useful to the company.

Sorry, that's business. If you work in field sales in Pharma, no matter what company you work for, you always have one foot in the unemployment grave.

Management is getting the company ready for acquisition. The big shots have already taken quite a bit of their financial investment in Aerie off the table. That should tell you where this company is heading. You've got less than a year before the company is acquired. After that, best of luck to you.

It is incredibly disappointing the way things have gone here. I have never posted on CP in all my years but felt compelled to do so now. People have worked their tails off for this company and the bonus structure was a sham. At other companies when the forecast was “off” they have always done the right thing and paid the sales force. This forecast wasn’t just “off”- it was a huge miss- and that has nothing to do with the execution of the sales force. The expectations were totally unrealistic in a slow-moving Glaucoma market with emerging managed care coverage... all things considered we have done well as a sales force. Looking at analysts reports Aerie is set to finish the year right smack in the middle of the 20-30 million goal. Pretty good considering we’re “disappointments”. A de-motivated sales force is not what you want when launching Rocklatan. You want to know why it was crickets on yesterday’s conference call? People are pissed and feel like this company doesn’t care about them. Remember- it is the sales force that generates sales.... Aerie missed the opportunity to do the right thing and people will leave as a result. I hope someone in leadership reads this.

Do you consider ~$20 million in sales a successful launch?? No company will support a sales force for a $20 million drug! The next product launch will be luck to achieve $30 million. Grow up and realize the master plan was always to dump the sales force.

Calm down people. The master plan was never to dump sales force. If that were the case they would have hired a bunch of rookies.
I have to admit though at other eye care companies, the sales team was made to feel like kings and queens and I was highly motivated to chase the carrot. Aeries not leading the way it can and knows it should. I want to give my discretionary extra effort but then you must reward that effort. It’s been pedal to the medal for 6 months and the IC payout was a shock.
Still, I believe Aerie will become the best Eyecare company in the industry. We have the best people, you and me. Great product(s). Strong pipeline. Expansion into new markets. US Managed care will continue to improve and Rhopressa/Rocklatan will make huge gains in 2019. This is a great time to make a name for yourself in your career at Aerie and in Eyecare.
    Good things will happen.

This article just came out today. Not good. How about firing whoever did the forecasting and spreading their salaries out amongst the sales force. Vince, Tom, and Gary all Lied to our faces when they stood on that stage and told us how important we we were and that they were going to take good care of us. LIES... they said this company was going to be different from the other companies... they were honest when they said that. It is different but not in a good way. Aerie is much worse than anything out there. I have never in all my career in eye care witnessed such small bonuses. So mad at myself for believing their BS.

Aerie I'm sure thought someone would buy them to either keep the drug off the market or add it to their portfolio. With sales as weak as these are, I doubt you'll find a buyer for a company that if at 8X earnings makes them a $1.5 Billion dollar company, who would pay anywhere near that for a drug that makes peanuts. Never! That's why this experiment will fail. You'll never convert the aging population to use a Roc inhibitor over the tried and true PG's out there. Not going to happen. ALSO, sustained delivery methods will soon be the therapy of choice as Medical Liasons from top pharma have concluded that back of the eye implants are well received by aging population demographics. Listen to me now, believe me later. You have been warned!

Anyone that left a company to join this company full of liars made a huge mistake. So many of us regretting that decision especially after our IC check hit. We were told the right thing would be done for the sales force. That did not happen. The money paid out showed they meant what they said on the conference call a couple months ago that we were failing the company...

ummm... did everyone forget we already got paid 80% of our bonus, and that they increased tripled the payment per RX for Q4? If you perform TMs have the ability to make $20K+ for 3 months in Q4.

Go to Dumpe... neurotrophic keratitis? Good luck selling something only 65,000 cases in the US have.

Ummm do you have shit for brains like our leadership team??? IC Plan rolled out to us said average payout would be over $14,000... one sales rep reached that number and just barely... let me explain what an average is to you, Vince, Tom, and Gary... some will be under that amount but just as many will be over that amount thereby creating an average. If 1 is barely over and 99 are drastically under you didn't hit the average smart guy... We may be quiet and scared to say it out loud but we are all pissed off at this launch bonus... yes things are better for Q4 but that does not make up for the peanuts they gave Q2-Q3. It would take 40k bonuses to do that. They have shown their true colors towards us.
