Which of these have you heard and what have you heard that's different?
    A. I've heard they're coming soon, maybe in April. (If they come that fast, then surely they can't affect Mannheim since wouldn't that take months to finalize with the worker's council?)
    B. And 1000+ will be affected.
    C. I heard there will be an attractive package for employees who are not quite near retirement age yet.

What business areas of diabetes care will be affected?

I've heard R&D for sure. But that's a really big number if it's just R&D. So either the number or who is affected is wrong because the alternative is that all of R&D is laid off.

35 laid off in Indy R&D today. Also some others in Quality were laid off but unsure of how many. I heard Mannheim R&D is affected too; does anyone know how many?

Does not add up: time is now to innovate in Diabetes space to fend off growth of Abbott (Freestyle LIbre) & Dexcom (G7). Why would we cut back on R & D at a time like this? Quality people are easily replaced, so no worries there, but R & D?

Not sure if you are oversimplifying the problem here. 1) there are many ways to compete and innovation is just one of them. 2) innovation can happen in many areas, not necessarily technology 3) when technological innovation reaches its plateau, you got to invest your money somewhere else to stay competitive 4) cutting down on R&D doesn’t necessarily mean roche is giving up on innovation. 5) it’s a leadership decision and I am sure someone has done the necessary math. We as employee just have to accept and make the best out of it.

You sound like a great employee that not-very-bright companies like Roche would love to have.
You definitely think very highly of the caliber of Roche leaders, when in reality they are a joke. Do you actually think that they climbed the corporate ladder based on their caliber? Wow! How much has Roche innovated in say, a century? Yeah, leave Genentech out. They were innovative long before Roche bought them, and their credibility has only diminished since.

Here is a clue: how many innovative companies has Roche bought, and had them folded? The answer - almost ALL of them. Do us a favor, and tell us where exactly Roche has been innovating? That's be a good joke for the new year.
