When B+L bought ISTA losses occurred on both sides, but ONLY ISTA had a severance package. Dating back years ago, when clinical studies failed initially for QD .18% Xibrom, the stock price fell below $1 and that is when they started “The Cowan Process”. This newly instituted policy helped ISTA, yet B+L people got nothing.

Where I do agree with you, is this is just another reiteration. This company will not be here for the long term, and its assets will be sold to a greater ophthalmic company. The stock grants alone (to middle/upper management)are the biggest indicator of what’s coming.

 

If B&L offered a position, the ISTA rep wasn't eligible for severance, and their stock options didnt vest.

Naturally, lots of reps were offered jobs that were then eliminated. Losses on both sides, bigger golden parachutes for the big wigs.

The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior.
