This is what happens when you got employees who are there for 20+ years, who haven't learned a thing in the last 15 and have no clue of the outside world. Over 90% of BMS staff that I work with are COMPLACENT and now are jockeying to be kept on post merger close. BMS would be stupid to keep dead wood talent.

Unfortunately, deadwood floats. These people will only leave with fat severance packages just as they are about to retire anyway.

That dead wood that you speak of with 20-25 or more years will be offered a tremendous severance package. Leaving with a pension & 401k valued near or over 1.5 million dollars plus a severance which is 2 weeks per year with health insurance for that period of time. I guess you will be looking at that deadwood differently now. I bet you are wishing that you were the deadwood. Now You will have to work much longer and harder to maximize your 401K. Good Luck! Deadwood.

How do you know the severance is 2 weeks per year? I recall 4 weeks + 2.5 weeks times years served. I can’t find severance info anywhere on BMS systems

It’s not always the same. 2 weeks per year of service was pretty standard years ago. It’s less expensive than litigation

Embarrassing is a company that hires washed up primary care hacks who pretend to be someone who can “educate” an oncologist. Reality? You’re a grub hub service with your crappy little company car.

Hahahaha...reps educate physicians...too funny, you actually believe this. Too rich, you should hit open mic night.

Agreed! Reps have little knowledge. They usually have a political science degree. lol

It doesn’t matter if your degree is advanced advanced advanced or underwater basket weaving-it doesn’t matter because the customers don’t see us anyway

#12 and #13 post are the same person. So you post on CF and then come back 15 minutes later and post that you agree with your own post? Seriously? No wonder no-one sees us.

No one sees you because you’re ridiculous morons that deliver food. Why would a doctor or nurse take time away from a patient so you can honestly check a box?

Isn’t that what justifies your existence as a rep? The company pretends you educate about your drugs? If you don’t understand the facetious nature of the post you quoted, it only proves the point of how stupid you are.

No. I face reality. We’re tax dodges to offset the exorbitant profits.
    You are the stupid one.

I'd think about it differently. The tax benefit of having your labor expense on the books helps to improve your ROI. If some 25 year old consultant [at the behest of whoever's paying them] can prove that each marginal sales rep's risk adjusted ROI is better than any other possible investment (research and development, acquisitions, other sales/marketing channels) then you keep your job.

Thankfully for reps everyone's career and personal interests are furthered by having the largest possible sales force and proving the ROI is positive. Heads of sales/marketing would rather lead a headcount of 250 vs. 25 on their resume. Every home office marketer/sales ops person wants to believe their salary is justified by the positive ROI of each additional rep they're indirectly supporting via their work. Analytics folks will do whatever makes their customers happy and allow them to spend more time working on things that are more personally and professionally fulfilling -- or simply doing nothing because they're overpaid for their skills in pharma relative to any other industry. RSDs and DMs would rather have their span of control within a daily commute distance vs. overnight stays.

Not a bad gig if you can keep it.
