    I am considering a position on the Nephrology sales team in the northeast. Can someone please provide honest feedback on the cultural environment and regional director and DM's.

    Northeast neuroscience reps are pretty cool at least KG is - not sure about nephro. The Ready now director is a joke and so is Otsuka don’t trust upper management HR Nick Giacapello or Jindal. End of the day the company hired ass kissers and just care bout bottom lines.

    Relevant for OP: Nephro leadership is better than other divisions. Novel orphan drug, good pipeline, reliable company. Good luck!

    Nick is actually a reasonable and compassionate guy. His partner, responsible for the west, is a royal jerk!! Wish I could spit in his face!!

    Yep, but MC is the bigger of the two jerks, RJ just suffers from an inflated ego...it's unbelievable what kind of a jerk you have to be to get -and keep- a well paying position in the company. And they both think they are doing a great job! But at Otsuka, that is no surprise. Pretty soon they will be promoted!!

    How many others are being just raked over the coals over any numbers at all? Sales, programs, reach, etc.?

    I am...sales performance is good, but they have to hammer me on metrics and lack of high quality attendees at programs, as if it is my fault who wants to attend and who doesn't. What am I supposed to do? Put a gun to the doctors head and say I'll pull the trigger if you don't attend??? All I can do is invite the prescriber. I am on the Neuroscience side...All of these "educational" programs are nothing more than promotional programs in disguise. Anything the doc learns at these events he can learn from me! So why spend time away from family for a dinner? Can't wait to get out of this BS!!

    I am getting just beaten to death! I agree about the programs. What a waste of $$$. I do not understand the thinking behind all of the micromanaging. I used to love my Manager. Now I avoid his phone calls as there is never any good news coming from him at all. And I am middle of the pack for crying out loud.

    Remember you work for a japanese company!!! They expect you to perform, no matter what!! At least give the appearance that you work 60 hours a week. Remember that shit flows downhill. Your RD is crapping on your DM, and he just craps on your head!!

    Holy Christ! Use positive tension??? That was a ridiculous Takeda strategy that drove sales into the toilet! Looks like Otsuka picked up a dud here.
