During a recent interview with Roche HR, I was asked "What year did you graduate"
There was no attempt to hide this blatant discrimination. I answered the question and the call ended quickly. How many people over 50 at Roche are let go, forced out, or not considered for roles because of their age?

The most shitty, low-caliber, extremely political people that I had the misfortune of working with at Roche Molecular Systems, Pleasanton, CA were >50. The dense-skulled VP Walter Koch (human garbage) seemed to prefer older people and trash-talked young people openly. He hired older people a lot. Not sure where your age discrimination rant is coming from.

Roche is not exactly a tech-savvy company nor does it encourage cutting-edge research. If it were, like most tech companies, then age discrimination makes sense. Their processes, products, development pipeline etc. is all in the age of dinosaurs. So, no, age discrimination is not prevalent at Roche.

    Discrimination against men is prevalent.
Loyalty through tenure is no longer respected.
Age discrimination does exist, you and your pension are just a liability.
Short term balance sheet improvements a company run by finance.

Sadly Roche lost the core values that made it successful and has no respect for its people anymore. Lacks true original authentic leadership. What a disgrace.

When HR asks this question it is prevalent. I imagine they discriminate against blacks and women too. None of the healthcare companies are like Google. Keeping up with healthcare tech isn't hard

Discrimination against men with testosterone is rife. To be a man and get by in Roche you need to cut your balls off and agree with all the women otherwise they go running to HR that you’re too aggressive.
