Thoughts on Otezla in primary care? Wonder how we will be incentivized?

Otezla rheumatology reps also call on primary care. We have a handful of scripts coming from them. But If you’re implying that they should have reps exclusively to call in primary care, that would be stupid. Not enough volume at all

Amgen is gonna have to get 1000% better insurance coverage for otezla if they think primary care is gonna write much. Right now it’s too much trouble to get approval

    which is why it’s a non-weighted 3rd product

I’m pumped! The training has been awesome and this drug is going to take off. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t surpass what the rheumatology team has done in primary care

There is tremendous opportunity in primary care. It will just take some effort to educate offices that aren't used to dealing with specialty pharmacies and prior authorizations.

The reality is that Otezla has pretty good commercial coverage. Medicaid coverage is non existent unless you live in Texas or California. Otezla is covered on most all Medicare plans but patients can't afford or use the co-pay assistance programs. So, be very select in how you promote it.

The ISS team only calls on offices that use specialty pharmacies a so they don’t have to educate them on what they are or how to use them.

we’ve already fought that battle. We carry Aimovig and Repatha, both go through specialty pharmacy. Which is why our team is going to take Otezla to a whole new level.

you probably will because you already have solid primary care relationships and facetime. Good luck!

So, how’s it going in primary? Haven’t heard a word about it from reps

Obviously you aren't from Amgen. If you were, you would know that we don't tell anyone how any product is doing. We guard product performance like Fort Knox. Instead, we focus on selling models, teleconferences, and other big Pharma activity measures.

So, who knows how it's doing. If TO wants to have you think its doing well, they will release enough vague data to say so. If TO wants you to enter more calls or do more 4DX WIGs, they will release enough vague data to say so.

Bottom line, all success is credited to Training first, then others in TO. Any shortcomings will be blamed on the field.

Now get your ass back on an Engage before we turn up the heat.
