Our leadership is hoping this “novel technology” will replace the need for so many of us. What doctor wants to be e-detailed right now? I’m in an area where nothing is open and many of my private customers are only seeing patients on an emergency basis.

Or scrambling to keep the sales teams busy

While I am very grateful to still have a paycheck, this Veeva engage is a terrible idea. My customers will actually get very annoyed that they are being "detailed " while they are scrambling to hold it together. The last thing they want is us bothering them in the middle of an international pandemic. The offices aren't less busy. In reality, they are probably short-staffed because employees with children have their kids at home indefinitely from school. I understand that Otsuka is worried about losing a lot of sales money, but we have to be realistic and respectful to our offices. Once or twice a week phone calls checking in with staff, to reiterate support should be all that we are doing right now. I am not angry, just trying to be realistic and sensitive to offices and patients.

Man, I agree. People need to speak up to their managers if they don’t see the idiocy in this platform at this time. We are in a pandemic. Our customers are at risk with many worries. Any AM out there who uses this is a dumbass.

Kim Martin needs to wake the F up. This is not the time to harass customers. It’s like they do not understand the National situation we are in.

Only at Otsuka would leadership be so stupid, greedy, and uncaring that sales reps are expected to detail during an international pandemic, and to the healthcare workers on the front line, nonetheless.

I AM angry. This is insane! No provider wants to be detailed any time soon! As soon as this crisis is over, I am looking. I’m ashamed to work for this company.

Agreed. Especially when MN from compliance casually mentions that HCPs will have their emails sent to a 3rd party for marketing purposes. But don’t worry they can just unsubscribe if they want to! So we are literally spamming our doctors on top of everything. I don’t understand how anyone thinks this plan will actually help sales. We should really only be checking in with our customers for support/resource maintenance right now, so please just give us infinite eLearns to stay busy in the meantime.

Detailing and sampling should only be reactive upon request. Under no circumstances should an account manager be setting up a dog and pony detail any time soon. We should be checking on our customers. Many are worried about getting sick themselves and about their patients who live in terrible situations.

It crawled under my skin when Maureen talked about how management could track how many and who all you are “calling on.” Why are RDs not speaking up against this fiasco?

Because they are spineless creatures, "yes" people, that's why they got hired.
Calling on doctors now, in any way shape or form is insane, there is nothing new about our drugs anyway.
By providing all these email addresses, sooner or later, Sales will not need us anyways, the emailing is as ineffective as the 20 second hallway detail...

I work for a big pharma company. RD issue a regional code of conduct. We are to check in daily to our DM to tell him how many emails and how many Veeva Engage calls we conducted and how many offices we call to set online engagements. We are told atleast one a week, we have to invite our DM to a Veeva Engage call with customer. Pure BS. Our new DM is so fucking dumb and thinks we are one of 3 companies that have Veeva Engage and we need to capitalize on this early. Salesforce.com sells this technology to everyone not just Big Pharma companies and this is how they scale up from Big to Small and niche rare disease companies. What a dumbass!

Yes, and when you are back in the field the doctor will tell you to go to hell, because you irritated him!! Our leadership is so stupid because they lack common sense. KM leads the way!

I sat there on that call, worried about my dad who works on the front lines of this and is 64, and I decided I was looking for a new job as soon as I can. I am shocked at Kim Martin and who she has become. E-detailing is only going to HURT sales, not help them. Let me regroup...attempting to edetail. Whatever management sees on ingenious is going to be fabricated. No doctor is actually going to be edetailed in the middle of an international pandemic.

You are spot on, we have idiots working at the home office. Common sense and empathy are non-existent, our regional directors are part of the problem, the one on the West coast is the worst!

Hey, let’s be fair to Kim. She is very good at ordering her henchmen to put people on PIPs!!

So, let's get this straight. This turd is polished, lip stick added with a little perfume and we are told she is the prom queen. Give me a break. You are back to checking in with the DM and lying? This job makes you a liar. How many details, physicians seen, etc., etc. Hooray, new metrics, no field ride but sit on hold and get told the Dr. is too busy. I dread just hearing his voice, let alone a field ride. I am just waiting for the PIP for the aftermath of this disaster of a plan. The Psych's are now 100% telemedicine, and they are going to interrupt a session to get online for some eDetailing...which is not even used on a good day? I can only imagine The Nephrology side...

Must be the same tactic RB must be using. Sell through fear...love it!

Does anyone have Kim Martin’s cell phone number? I won’t hesitate calling her and put her and her pompous ass in her place!

Please tell me no one is actually trying to make their doctors look at a detail aid.

C’mon now, doctors need to hear about me-too Rexulti at least 900 times, otherwise they don’t understand and don’t get it. Remember, they are stupid, we are smart. We have only shown this crap over 500 times, so your job isn’t done yet. It’s your job to waste their time with rehash, probing questions and most of all positive tension during these challenging times so that we make our financial goals. That’s all that really matters. I am sure you understand that. Doctors will appreciate the value of your reminders, lack of new or scientific data, smiling faces and bad breath while being swamped with patients. Providers and patients are counting on you to deliver our important messages. Never forget that, as you are part of the treatment team! And I am here to make sure it happens while I sit on my pompous ass and collect a fat paycheck. Consider yourself a resource without published studies, medical education or information. You bring coffee, bagels and smiles, therefore you are a resource. But enough for now, I am overworked already and I need to get my nails done. A lady of my statue got to have her priorities straight and maintain her image of being powerful, brainless, and redundant.

Your DM can provide further details on my ego, lack of leadership, IQ, incompetencies and entitlements.

    See you at the top!

    Kim M.

Sure thing... And then you can watch access shut down even more when this is all over. This'll just be the straw that breaks the camel's back! Imagine how many pharma companies are trying to do this or will be doing this! Talk about annoying... No matter the intentions, as another post said - It WILL appear insensitive, self-serving and greedy, because it is. Not smart IMHO unless you just want to burn bridges.
