HA. When I see an email with either of the two on it goes straight to the garbage. Good luck thinking anyone wants to work with you. Tried to recruit me to leave last year and now look at them

anyone know what’s going on with these two? Are they here for good? I can’t work here with them here. One reached out to me to give me advice for my territory during coronavirus and I’d rather get coronavirus than talk to him again

Benco is failing supremely, heard they let go a good chunk of their reps today. Let’s pick up their crappy second rate accounts!!!

They furloughed/fired/laid off 90+% of their workforce. Nearly all of the reps in the field. Fired a bunch of managers out west too. Surprised if they recover/ come back from this.

Government bail out. They will continue to be around but a much smaller version.

Fake news kids. My confirmed intel from different sources said some things went down but few reps laid off. No field reps to my knowledge laid off in the North East and only a few furloughed. It looks like furloughed reps were salaried newbies or reps who simply weren’t cutting it to begin with. Reps took a reduced comish draw but it’s a draw so pretty meaningless. We’ll all be looking for work soon when the recession hits dental offices and nobody has a job or money to pay for any work. It’s gonna be really bad for all dealers reps. I’m sure we’ll see our own lay-offs by next week.

Not Fake news. The west district from the top down was hit pretty hard. Either fired, furloughed, or keep your job with reduce pay. I’m not sure about the rest of the country.

Maybe on the West. I believe they have only a limited number of years working the West Coast. Probably little market share out there so the maybe more dead weight and fat to cut than on the East Coast. Please post when you hear about our HS lay-offs. I swear they could get rid of all of us, keep the techs and move all sales to the Darby division.

I guess they could get rid of us if they wanted too but I just don’t see them trying to save a few pennies in the short run. Maybe if this goes on for extended months then that’s a different story. Seems like this company is built to withstand the small storm and look for a way to gain even more market share in the long haul.

Not fake news at all. Benco laid off or furloughed a significant amount of reps effective Friday. The west coast wasn’t the only one, it happened across the entire country not sure the percentage but only 2-3 reps left per region right now.

Dentsply Rep got this from benco:
Today, our company made the difficult decision to temporarily furlough a significant portion of our workforce, and reduce the hours of others. Most of our customers are closed, and the few who remain open are treating emergencies only. It quickly became apparent that aligning our staffing with the drastically reduced demand for products and services is immediately necessary so that we can position Benco to emerge strongly and with full resources when the practice of dentistry resumes.

Bencos owner responded to one of their posts!!
What an absolute CLOWN of the dental industry .
The company uses a business model of hiring former Patterson and schein reps..... then does not have the infrastructure or funding to back it up.
Our day is coming, but at least you dont work for that clown over there posting on this site. Our CEO and management team is working on how to move forward, Benco is trying to stay above water.

The owner is a clown but I highly doubt he actually responded. It’s someone drinking the kool aid.

Disgruntled Benco Rep here, he actually posted, all the Benco managers know about this site and follow it. Chuck read off of it at our national sales meeting as a “joke”.

Enjoy and be glad you don’t work for this guy, sure wish I didn’t but times are tough with covid-19 right now and I’m stuck here for now.

    Greetings, all...

Chuck Cohen here. Happy to directly address the rumors that keep popping up on this site, including those posted over the past few days...

*The Cohen family continues to own Benco 100%, as before, and we are just as passionate and enthusiastic about the future of the company, and dentistry, today as we were in 1930 when Ben Cohen opened his dental depot in Northeastern PA.
*We did, indeed, right-size the company last week through furloughs and other changes, reflecting the fact that dentistry is (basically) closed across the country due to the CV19 crisis. When dentistry reopens, we will quickly staff back up and get back to business.

If anyone on this site or thread has any questions or concerns, or would like to find out the truth behind any rumors, please reach out to me directly.

    Onward!

    Chuck Cohen
    Managing Director

Seriously? I heard jokes about him saying something but no Benco rep I know would confirm it. I bet Larry if he knew would be disappointed in him.

Yeah it’s all true. Wish I had videoed the speech. He tried to make It like the mean tweets segment that jimmy kimmel does. So lame. This place is falling apart at the seams, especially in the west. I don’t know if we’ll make it thru this.

I guess he had to come up with something new since no Kari & Terry epic fail show.

I wonder if it’s available somewhere. Didn’t they use to live stream it?
