The groundwork for layoffs was laid with over expansion of sales team. Clear Exact sales leadership bought into the Pfizer model that if a PMR team of 300 can sell 1 million tests then a team of 600 can hit 3 million and a team of 1200 will surely hit 8 million tests. Exponential detail growth. A thousand plus sales people to cover 50 states.

Wanna trim fat....management positions. Majority of them. If a company hires the “right” sales people. They surly don’t need a babysitter to ride in the car and watch their every move. Then write up a report on them. Stupid. If people are not tenured and successful by the time they are hired here, they don’t belong. And ADs can approve expense reports, what else do they have to do all day anyway, except ask Managers for a bunch of reports that they could run themselves. Problem solved.

How many PMRs are there???? 1200?

And vacant territories perform as well as ones with PMRs in them, so we can say that we’re all expendable, right? Let’s not start pointing fingers and throwing everyone else’s job up on the chopping block. Why not just go sell something and keep us all safe? This isn’t a fight between positions to see who stays and who goes. Drive sales, and we all stay.

    I’m a consultant at ZS

I’m surprise your management hasn’t made the announcement yet

we advise them to make the announcement 90 days prior to any riff

usually companies that have some ulterior motive such as financial wanting Delay announcements to the last second

we advise our clients to give as much notice beyond the legal WARN 90 days for Goodwill and company morale

    best of luck

Obviously this is a BS post. On the other hand, PFE is on the hook contractually to provide X amount of details, and if it becomes apparent that the true ability of a reps efforts to access and influence prescribers is going to be compromised for quite some time, look out.

Probably a pre determined exercise date cost him a million or so? I would guess he wishes he had not locked in on a sale date.

Sorry no sympathy for him especially after the tone he had on our thread last call. Let him sit at home and worry about being eliminated! He is part of the problem. His leadership has done nothing for business growth . They just spend ridiculous money on people we never needed. Think about it the sales force that existed pre GI division. Pre expansion of unnecessary ISRs and overlays, and the biggest joke if all adding Pfizer well that original sales force pre Stenhouse generated the same market share we have now and at a much lower cost!!!!!!! Why do we need all of the aforementioned people who have not made a significant difference to the bottom line

Well said. Pfizer deal a disaster. Overlay expansion disaster. Leaves decision making to the expert consultants at ZS. I swear ZS and Salesforce have destroyed the the Pharma industry and Exact brought their garbage here.

Exact should wipe out the summer expansion.
The original PMR’s that got promoted to GI specialty should go back to PMR’s.
The rest of the sales force..... ISR’s, Overlays,
Pfizer, and summer new hires that took the expansion territories should all be eliminated.

It was a suicide move and financially irresponsible move to expand this company.

Quit trying to give other people’s job away. Some really good people were promoted to GI, and we also brought over some really good people in the Summer expansion. Didn’t we just increase revenue by 60 something percent versus last year? All of a sudden, a global pandemic hits, turns the world economy on its ear, and you’re looking at the impact and pretending that bad financial decisions got us where we are. You know that’s not true - COVID 19 and stay at home orders got us where we are. We were in the process building a company that has enormous untapped potential with its current product and many, many more products to come.

Why not just go do your part? If you only moved 10 kits last week, is that because of the expansion last Summer or the creation of a GI sales force? Just get to work, get people screened, and we’ll get through this. I’m not sure why you feel the need to turn into an asshole when a little adversity hits. Get to work, make a difference, support one another, and we’ll make it through this.
