Amgen stop with all the requests for virtual calls. Doctors dont want to hear it! I will make this publicly known on the news media and internet how much greed you have amidst this pandemic. Show compassion. Doctors are in the frontlines. STOP!

Good for you...I agree...I’m and the OBU who has posted before and I'm in the same boat. It’s ridiculous...

Varies by specialty. I’m not in OBU but I’d imagine that virtual engagements are much less well received than in other divisions. My experience has been pretty positive just meeting each account where they are at.

But if you want to go to the media...have at it. Just about every company is doing it plus contributing millions for relief plus working at breakneck speed to come up with a vaccine. Let us know how it works out for you. But I won’t hold my breath.

Well Amgen isn’t doing none of the above other than putting a drop in the bucket in terms of $ to pretend to do its part in the ‘relief efforts’

Enough is right. I'm not in OBU but my manager is minimizing the severity of what is going on around us and is in denial. My manager thinks that by pushing for virtual calls that they will keep their job and that I'll be helping customers out. NO, I need to leave them alone during this time of crisis. Calls will wait til we go back.

$12.5 million is a drop in the bucket? Ok...well....call the media. I’m still curious how that’s gonna be received.

maybe have your manager read the first few slides of the virtual field activity training deck....especially the guiding principles. I personally haven’t had one office upset that I made a phone call. But.....I can see how a doc would be irritated at a barrage of unsolicited virtual meeting requests by industry. See if you can talk to the MA’s of your top accounts...ensure they know you are still there to help...sample, trouble shoot complicated PA’s, etc.....and if the biggest way to help is to leave them alone during this time you can do that too.

There is a brilliant and educated response.

Why would the media care ? Docs should just ignore requests if they are too busy. Not all docs work on covid patients

Oh...I don't know...that Pharma, who is already a hated business sector by the public, is spamming busy doctors with nonsense marketing messages, FaceTime requests, and phone calls while they are trying to keep their patients and themselves safe during this once in a century pandemic????

    Out of touch much?

then why do I have accounts calling me requesting samples, assistance pulling through PA’s, and asking me if we can do lunch after they huddle and feel it’s ok?

I’m sure different specialties are different but it’s casting a broad brush saying they all don’t have time to be called.

Pharma hated? I get it. Airplanes crashing is what makes the news. But I believe it’s more of a love/hate relationship. They love those samples, savings cards, and solutions to disease. There are some bad actors for certain. On balance we impact lives for the better.

They are calling for ‘customer services’ by your own admission. That is not personal promotion/selling? Who does’t want something for nothing?

The promotion/selling occurs during the lunches.

You must have a low IQ and/or a complete lack of awareness regarding yourself and others. Media will not care about spamming docs in the slightest, because doctors EASILY handle this by simply ignoring any call they have no time for. You think they weren't already ignoring you when there wasn't time? Most doctors are not working on this virus at all anyway, because medicine is highly specialized in the US.
There has never been any media criticism for any pharma company spamming doctors, despite the fact that it has always occurred all the time. This virus is not the end of the world (sorry to burst your paranoia bubble).

If you still don't believe it, go ahead and SPAM the media with your personal complaint that is not related to any potential legal or ethical issue. Media are too busy for your petty personal issue, they have bigger stories to work on.

YOu're full of it. Most offices are telemedicine. They don't need samples. Maybe the first week or two but not now . The physicians are working from home and cut office hours if they even have them. I can see a few small offices taking a lunch but most don't want any food brought in and want us to stay away.

That’s not the case in my area. Docs are doing telemedicine from the office...running with a skeleton crew. As far as samples....it’s slowed down but I’m still finding 1 or 2 per week that need them.
