Correct. And if by chance he under-performs, you should correct his behavior

I happen to like working for Amgen a lot. And I know plenty of other people who do as well. Usually people who are in roles that are highly rewarding, challenging, and with mobility. There are plenty of them if you're smart.

Also one thing to note. Not only have we outperformed the industry from a public equity perspective as some of you have rightfully noted, but we have, hands down, the best margins in the industry. This company prints cash. Which is why we are so nimble and can make all cash acquisitions whenever we want. Any of you who talk shit about other functions really don't have any business doing so unless you work in a function that had broad exposure to the entire rest of the organization where you have the full picture (so that absolutely eliminates sales as one of the most myopic functions of all) and have to be at a level of seniority where you're able to get that view by being in the right discussions.

Honestly there is just way way too much speculation and inference that happens here based on people who have so little information. For once I'm trying to be diplomatic, so if maybe you want to know about things, you should ask questions rather than come here to complain or come here with a preconceived notion or an arrogant attitude that you already know about Amgen

Thanks for solidifying my response. Yes financials are good. They have always been good. How we got there? Clearly questionable from an ethical and legal perspective. Did you already forget about LM, CS, HT and the CIA’s? Add to that a toxic culture in TO...so bad we paid/pay millions to consultants to help us with our culture. Guess you forgot about keeping your fishbowl clean. Lastly we have lost some amazing commercial senior leaders in the last 5 years. Perhaps you should catch up with some of them to get your “global view” of the business. If you really work in TO you know it’s a hornet’s nest fighting with a rat’s nest. Lastly unless you are a VP and above no one is benefiting from the PPS increase...ED and down do not get enough LTI to create true wealth.

I've never once worked with him. You seem to be the only one who cares about him. No one else at amgen does.

    Lol totally wrong.

First of all almost every company I've been to has had a CIA at some point and it's usually because of sales by the way.

I don't know who those initials are. Instead of being snarky you could actually say the people. I don't believe the culture is toxic. You do. Agree to disagree. Clearly you haven't done well in TO.

And which senior leaders that we lost were good? I can't think of one. They have all been trash. Let's see here...rolph...trash, Suzanne...trash, Laura h..trash, Tony and Sean...trash, Neil...trash, Richard p...trash. Seriously man, who was good? These people were all awful and toxic and needed to leave. The only good person we lost was Marc McClung. And yes I have worked with all of these people. Do you even work with senior management in TO?

And umm...how do you figure a level 7 or level 8 are not benefitting from the share price going up? I know level 7s with a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of shares and I'm sure level 8s are pushing much higher than that. It's not unusual for a director to have well over 1,000 shares so I wouldn't be surprised if EDs have double or triple that. Clearly you're not a numbers guy. Or maybe you don't realize that a director gets like $50k every year worth of shares because you're not a director in TO.

And by the way you throw a LOT of accusations with zero evidence. Are you a Democrat by the way? Sounds like how people accuse our president of things. Rofl. If you're not then you should be ashamed. You're literally claiming we have good Financials due to questionable ethical and legal tactics. That's a big claim to be making and frankly asinine that we only got here from doing unethical and illegal things. If by chance we did, it certainly isn't why we are where we are right now, and like it said, it's not even part of the current management so your point is even more irrelevant.

You "don't think the culture is toxic" however you list SIX people that were in leadership you call trash. Doesn't sound like a positive culture just by that statement. Also what do you mean you've "almost every company you've been to have had CIA's"?? Do you run around just visiting different companies??

People at every company complain about their culture. It’s all relative to where you came from

Wow...go mainline some more blue kool-aid. Looks like you worked at a lot of unethical companies if they all had CIA’s. So I guess it’s all relative. If you don’t know those initials than you have not been here very long. You don’t know what you don’t known. You haven’t been deposed for days on end. You haven’t watched a company lose most of its credibility over the past decade and a half. If you think the option packages that you stated are “good” than you must be well below an ED or have not worked at any good bio onc companies. I’ve done quite well in TO. You would definitely know who I am and would be shocked that I am the one posting this. Let’s just leave it at that. I’ll say this, I’ve flown in every jet we have owned with more of our CEO’s than I’m guessing you have. If you like it here good for you...clearly you see what you want to see and ignore what you don’t want to see.

Mark McClungberg???? OMG. That’s your guy? You proved you have no clue what you are talking about. Your credibility is gone. He is a dolt and was an Onyx guy anyway. Were you not here for that? $50k worth of shares? 1000 shares? Peanuts. Are you an admin or something?

You're not so bright huh. WE GOT RID OF THEM. They were toxic people. The culture itself isn't toxic. No wonder you guys can't sell shit. The overall culture is great. Some particularly toxic senior management were here and many are gone now. Making it clear for your pea brain.

And yes when you're a management consultant you work for several companies. So I have been at a number of companies over the years and had to take their training courses and a bunch have had CIA courses to take as part of the mandatory training. It's incredibly common in this industry and almost always because stupid ass sales have done some shady shit.

Admins don't get shares first of all. Yeah ok $50k per year as a director and $75-100k as an ED is peanuts? You must be really rich then. 1000 shares is $235,000. And that's fairly easy for a director to have. Most executive directors will be closer to a million. You're an idiot.

Marc McClung was very smart and everyone who worked with him thought that. He's not "my guy"...I just said he's one person who left who wasn't a toxic idiot. They replaced him with Kristen yarema...who was absolutely a toxic idiot.

You are the only person I ever heard say Marc was smart. Bob A was smart, not toxic and took a lot of good talent with him. Honestly I'm blown away that you saw Marc as being smart. Unreal. Your must have a very low bar...

Reps at good biotechs are making millions on their stocks...$50K gets around 200 RSU's not a lot of money. $100K gets you 437 RSU's again not a ton. Try again.

Hahaha. You show me a sales rep making millions per year. You fool. You try again. We all know how much reps make and they don't get that much stock. Shut up. The stock at "good biotechs" is worthless unless you get extremely lucky. If this is so true go make millions. What a clown

You're a jackass. Not interested in chatting with you anymore. Far more shit has left Amgen than talent. Keep throwing insults. I'll hold back from doing the same because I don't need to be at your level. Quite mature for a man who apparently is friends with Bob. Or maybe just a pathological liar

Thats what I said. Said there are reps making millions on their shares. Didn’t say they are making millions in salary. Yeah. It’s all luck...

Good I don’t like chatting with delusional people. That’s the Amgen way...anyone who leaves was “shit” and those who stay are “great”. That has ALWAYS been the narrative here. Isn’t that funny...guess that the coping mechanism it takes to believe this is a good place to work when watching good people leave. “They weren’t that good anyway”. Lastly we have one of the highest turnover rates in the industry. Clearly you are not in a people leadership position or you would know the lengths HR and the Comp Committee are going through to lessen the turnover for both internal and field based EE’s. Sorry I wasted this many words on someone who views Marc as smart and good at what he does. Clearly you have terrible judgment.
