I joined JnJ early this year at grade 31 and was wondering what a normal vs good annual pay raise is. I'm not in sales if that matters. Thanks!
2-2.5% is normal. 3-3.5% is good. That raise will get impacted by the company multiplier. Also beware that your target bonus is just that - even if you hit all of your goals, have a good perf eval, you may still get less than the target - which I think is 20% at a grade 31.
Your raise will have very little to do with your performance. Well. Performance at JNJ - all OpCos is a very very subjective measure and is dependent on how well your boss likes you...how well their network of leaders and friends like you...Now..if you are a latina and you work for a latina who has a network of latinas...you are golden. Expect raises and bonuses double the double but did you know that if you have a child during a year, your performance score will be lowered?...since you did not perform the whole year...imagine that one.
At JNJ performance reviews are not used to move you forward. They are used as a method of holding you back.
