Yes time IS limited! Why it’s almost 12:30 pm, and I haven’t had a chance to get to the damn gym yet! But it’s my fault. I played 9 holes this morning with my neighbor. We were practically the only ones playing ! It was great! Where does the time go?

And this my friends is why many of us will lose our jobs in November.

Gloom and doom everywhere! Maybe to some extent people screwing off might have a small effect on a lay-off, but the real reason is the game has changed completely, especially in a specialty like psych. Psych is perfect for telemed, more so than any other specialty. We have at least 4 reps call on 1 doc between us and our alliance idiots! That’s ridiculous! One psych rep is all that is needed from Lundbeck.

If the HO thinks they are going to have some takers for a virtual team, the only that will happen is if the pay is the same. I would love to do a virtual deal ! It s been great having all the extra time each day!

Nobody knows what will happen until it happens. Keep looking and enjoy your free time!

Virtual reps will make half at best of real reps. Hell, even real reps deserve 40k per year. At best you people have a crap 4 year degree.

I doubt, but if that’s the case, the will only get retired reps, college kids, etc. Of course we don’t really earn even $40k, but that’s not the point. The precedent has been set at above $100k and that what is expected. This reorg will be more like the one in November 2018, where the ASM’s will target the ones they don’t like. It won’t be anything like an actual lay-off , wait and see.

Well reorgs are basically the only way to get rid of crappy employees without going through an extended HR process. Call it a reorg and sprinkle in some innocent victims to avoid age and racial bias and you are good to go.

Yep that’s why long time employees and recent hires take the brunt. The old timers are the target as they cost more and in many cases are over the hill fatties. The younger ones are terminated to balance things out and avoid age discrimination.

The fact that Takeda is ok with keeping their reps home till 2021 and the expectations are totally opposite here is just the biggest line of BS ever. And as someone has posted recently, even Otsuka has been unpredictable with their field presence on a weekly basis all b/c of their red, yellow, and green county by county COVID protocol. But Lundbeck has played the submissive role with both companies which is just stupid "asf!"

The fact that we are having a reorg and everyone is dealing with so much anxiety here already is just ridiculous, Why drag this out till November as we all know will be the case? Why do it right before the holidays which is already going to be difficult this year with the ongoing pandemic looming over us?

I'm older and definitely not a fattie, In way better shape than many 30-40-year-olds here! LOL

Kaya admitted during the POA open session Q&A when asked that they were considering a remote virtual sales team. Folks, that won;'t be people from this existing sales force who are overpriced for that selling model. Stop thinking otherwise!!!

Watch Lundbeck do as Novartis did following their Aug 2020 cardiovascular division reorg that INCLUDED A LAYOFF AS WELL even after reps were told beforehand NO ONE would be losing their jobs. Novartis has most recently been advertising in the higher populated markets for Remote Virtual Sales Specialists, salary range $60k - $84k. Go look it up and see for yourselves and this is what will happen here too. They have no intention of transitioning any of us into that selling model. As the Novartis virtual sales position reads, the remote virtual sales specialist will collaborate with the field specialty sales and primary care team reps as an overlay. That way Novartis takes a rep out of the field, no co vehicle, no travel expense, and just a lowly telesales GIRL FRIDAY contract style person they can drop at any time down the road WHEN it proves to be ineffective which it definitely will since providers, for the most part, hate that selling style. It's a perfect position for soccer Moms, but the job expectations will be unrealistic. Not to mention how much harder it will be for the field sales specialty and primary care reps trying to get virtual calls in as well when providers are being hounded nonstop by the remote virtual salesperson. Just dumb as $h!t!

But what will happen here for sure as did at Novartis: there will be lots of reps DEMOTED to primary care. They know many will leave as soon as they can find other better-paying, more secure positions which will allow Lundbeck to re-hire primary care reps for those vacant territories at way lower salaries. Folks, this is not rocket science. Lundbeck is very predictable as a glorified contract sales operation and will follow the big pharma players when it's all said and done.

For me and many others I know here, this has been our pre-reorg notice to be actively applying for other opportunities and getting out of here. I have a second interview next week with a true specialty sales organization outside of psychiatry and the base salary range is awesome, ($135k - $150k) making what I currently earn here embarrassing. I've actually been amazed at how many great openings there are with other companies currently.

You’re Takeda and Otsuka’s cannon fodder/biatches. That’s what happens when your company decides to ignore the US market until 2010 and has to depend on someone else.

I’m keen to see how it plays out. Blood bath or tweak. I’m surprised other companies are hiring, but more power to them.

Nobody in their right mind would take a step down to being a virtual rep! Only out to pasture retired reps would ever consider it. I haven’t been here but a couple of years, and I realize now the only reason I came here was out of desperation. I knew there was no future here, and we were nothing but a contract sales force, but I needed the money. Lesson learned.

Having your head in the sand and waiting for the inevitable is like a recipe for disaster my friend!

Well said and you're not alone here feeling that way. Lundbeck sees the writing on the wall with these lame alliance agreements and how difficult it has been working with Takeda and Otsuka even at the senior management level much less as reps. Too many Chiefs and too many Indians for two drugs that will never be blockbusters regardless of what spin they put on it.

Virtual reps like the poster above stated yesterday will not come from the existing sales force. I looked up the Novartis Remote Virtual Sales Specialist opening posted in my area and the poster was correct - the salary range is $60,000 to $84,000. Those positions will be directed toward recent college grads, soccer Moms, and those who have taken early retirement, or lost their jobs and unable to find anything better. It will be viewed as a bitch job to the field salesforce and a constant annoyance to offices, thus making field reps access to virtual calls more challenging as well. Bad idea, but Lundbeck will do it!

My manager informed me that current Psych reps will not be paid on PCP 1st or 2nd trimester. There will be one company wide goal that if meet we will all get a little something. So if this is the case, why would we have PCP sales force? New contracts?

So a Marxist like goal. Everyone contributes according to their ability. Well my ability is to enjoy staying at home, making a few fake calls now and then, and sending in a lunch and talking with no providers. Works for me.

I bet sales for the 3rd quarter will be just fine. We will get a PA email bragging about how everything was up. I think our new normal is working just fine! At least it is for me.

Exactly. Why would there be a PCP salesforce when they aren’t even motivating us with money for sell to PCP’s currently.

Your “ability” will also be explaining to your family how you will continue to pay the bills once terminated. Companies are delaying launches left and right and major ones like Pfizer and Novartis are gleefully taking an ax to all the dead wood. Good luck “just getting another job,”
