I’m new to the company. We have many reps with side hustles. Trainers, financial planners, substitute teachers, school coaches etc... Does the company not care? What about team members and managers? These side jobs take time away from the field and would be bad for team performance. Can I get away with it?

Yes you can get away with it. One of my coworkers was allowed to miss meetings. B.S.

Pharma is my “side job.” You’d be stupid to believe you will retire from any Pharma/Medical job and not have a Backup plan from your Plan A which should be your “side hustle”

I built a sizable real estate portfolio while working as a rep.

If you "hustle" just a little, you can last in pharma with and have decent amount of $. I retried after >25+ years with no plans for more work.

Your “hustle” has something to do with ZS Consultants deciding whether or not to cut your ass every other year? Delusional koolaid drinker

Not here at BMS brother. I cannot think of anyone in Oncology ever on a PIP. All you do is grow old and stupid here.

And I'm playing shortstop for the Mets.

Everyone is so rich, but they still have a day job at a company. What bullshit.

Can you get in trouble for working another gig? Several reps are buying into other businesses

Think there's a guy at JnJ who is a ref in the NFL. May have a higher base at that job than primary job. Good figure.

Go be you and grow your business!

That's called gambling. I know, but your method is a sure thing. Can't get hurt. Heard it all before.

Seriously, my hubby and I have been buying property during normal working hours. Got to have a plan as fool proof as those gullible, goofy guys I flirt with on ZM/meetings.

Ordering items from Amazon.com is not buying property.

I used to sell samples to a couple mom/pop pharmacies. Easy cash. And always make sure it’s cash bc you don’t want a record of it.

I’ve also sold company swag on eBay. Yes, there are people who actually buy some of this crap. Obviously, this was a much better hustle pre pharma guidelines.

I also share some catering profits with 2 of my vendors. I guarantee them business every week and they hook me up with a % of the revenue they make from me and a couple of my district mates.
