Nuvasive is a bit payer with good products. They are run by many ex Medtronic people. They have yet to turn a profit however. They are what Globus is to Synthes Spine.

You will have to fight tooth and nail for MDT doc's and MDT is now putting NuVasive squarely in their sights to give their customers everything NuVasive can't.

What are they offering that Nuvasive can't?

trend setting. Thats a laugh. If anybody is following at the present time its MDT. Trying to come out with DLIF and nerve monitoring....no comparision to XLIF and Nuvasive's nerve monitoring.

You are right about no comparison with nerve monitoring and XLIF. I am sure that sticky pads are much more precise than needle leads, oh and i am sure that every nuVasive rep is licensed and practicing neurophysiologist with malpractice insurance. Green light... Yellow.... Red... "Doc you just severed the nerve" Like you won't be deposed for that lawsuit. additionally, how come surgeons are experiencing ant. thigh pain w/ Xlif???????????? I am still trying to figue out what is laughable about Infuse, PEEK rods, cervical disc arthroplasty etc. If anything Nuvasive is the laughable one here with the one trick pony and a gimp leg.

Green light, Yellow, Red...how simple right?? oh my, its almost as though the company did that on purpose to make it simple for the docs. And even better, make it simple for the reps so they dont have to be practicing neuro's to run it either, being as though Nuvasive can spend a little more time slowly eating away market share. Maybe not a national status yet, but we're kicking Medtronic ass in my territory. Theres a few other players, but not medtronic. But when you cowards get your asses kicked in a certain area, you just do the bitch thing and buy them anyways. (example Kyphon) haha, oh well, I'll make the money now and if you fags try and buy us out at a ridiculous price, I got my stock ready! Make it go through the roof Medtronic!!!

You didn;t address the short comings of the XLIF system or your neuro monitoring. To be truthful, the monitoring system is so poor that docs have stopped the Lateral approach all together in my area. Hospitals are not letting Nuvasive in because of it. I don't think you get it. You are not qualified to interpret data from nerve monitoring. It won't ever be an issue until the surgeon places his/her trust in that machine and your "interpretation" then ends up clipping a route. You'll see man, you'll see.

PS. MDT would never buy NuVasive. And they bought Kyphon to OWN the market as well as gain their IP.

To the Nuvasive person what area of the country are in? And are you direct? I am looking at a position in the West and wanted to know what is a realistic number the Nuvasive reps are making in base and commission.

Honestly man, I dont think you understand. You are right, we may not be qualified to interpret data from nerve monitoring. That is why unlike the other nerve monitoring companies with techs standing in the back interpreting data, our machine is physician driven. You wheel the machine right in front of the surgeon's face and they can either look at it, or hear the sound and interpret the data for themselves. As for being liable...you really dont understand the principle. As we all know, the surgeon is the captain of the ship so to speak. Whatever goes wrong in the room, ultimately is his/her fault. The odds of clipping a nerve without monitoring all together is much much much higher than with our machine. That is why all surgeons who are worth a damn buy into the principle of monitoring. So they are much more liable more often for causing radiculopathy or other horrible effects without using monitoring than not. And our system is the only system that has real time data. And thats just the facts man. As far as pain following the lateral approach, I haven't had much experience with complaints. There has been the occasional problem of psoas weakness for a few weeks following which fully heals, but this minimally invasive procedure is way the hell better than stripping off all the muscles posteriorly, or the risk of doing an ALIF and having to have another approach surgeon. If the lateral approach wasnt so good, why is medtronic trying so hard to come up with DLIF or whatever they call it. I'm not saying Medtronic isnt a great company at all. They are. What I'm saying is that our technology is innovative and NuVasive is a good comapany with good products and the leader in minimally invasive spine. There's a reason we are the fastest growing spine company in the world.

To prior post. check your math. Globus is the fastest growing spine company. Nuvasive would be #2. Close but no cigar

The NuVasive monitoring is so poor that docs in your territory quit going lateral?

BS - You are full of it - Lateral is the future and you punks know it - that is why you are copying XLIF with DLIF - that sure is originial. DLIF sucks ass.

And talking smack about sticky pads - we have needles genius - since day one - get your facts straight loser. Get the your head out of your docs ass.

I'll give Nuvasive my one sack-o-shit ALIF surgeon.

By the way, Nuvasive's lateral plate sucks, their posterior fixation is really not percutaneous, their interbody stinks and when it is filled with OP-1 it really blows.

Nuvasive -- that one trick pony needs a break.

Seriously, didn't the first poster just ask about a job, and some info. Secondly isn't all this about the patient. I really like the last person stating that Nuvasives interbody blows, really, it blows, but let me guess Clydesdale is going to change the world? What will you say to a doc when you pitch dlif and he asks you why you previously told him the lateral approach was a bad idea? Also a previous poster mentioned a severed nerve "route", learn how to spell buddy.

  20. First off, why are all of the Nuvasive reps hanging out in the Medtronic chat thread. In terms of innovation, Nuvasive would not have been able to develop the XLIF without Medtronic developing the MED or Metrx system. The whole procedure is based on those muscle dilation principles that the whole freaking industry is copying now. Nuvasive might have a 1% market share in my area. The only procedure their instruments are being used on is the XLIF. It is a good procedure but the retractor completely sucks. Medtronic piggybacked off of the procedure, which every company does in this business, but has drastically improved on the retractor. But I have to give it to Nuvasive and their marketing team. Going after UFC fighters to sponsor and endorse the XLIF procedures should make you a big player in the market. LAME.
