Looks as if we could be selling Concerta soon. Although the court did not hand down a decission yet, Our lawyers ran circles around J&J in the court room yesterday! I will post the audio link to yesterdays case in Wash. D.C.
Slimebag generic company - the demise of legit Pharma R&D. Can't spell either. Love to see all you bottom-feeders go away. Yes, I'm with J&J.
Interesting that "We got Concerta" was derived from that audio. The arguement is on one aspect of a patent, time point zero. They are also arguing on osmotic vs all other forms. If you make something besides an osmotic ascending release, it is a different product. End of story, if it is not the same product, it is not a generic equivalent. So you will be selling an inferior alternative, they do that now, it is called medadate cd and it doesnt work as well!
Dude, do you know if or when Andrx will be hiring Rep's to sell Concerta. I'm certain all the JNJ Rep's would be happy to leave and directly compete with Jannsen --- they hate working for Jannsen. Everyone is bidding their time hoping for a severance! Do you know when the Court will issue its opinion and how long it will take to get a generic to market?
I dont know when the court will issue its opinion but we are being told a new sales force will be forthcoming. I'll let you know when the process begins and I'm sure we will be interested in talking to the sales people working the markets now. Goodluck with Jannsen, I hear everyone is living in a constant state of fear over there!
I would not work for Andrx if they have a sales force, been there, done that. They hire an entire sales force, then they just lay you off if the launch does not go well. I'm just trying to save you a lot of frustration.
In the rare case they do hire a sales force they let you know up front the job is temp. You are a hired gun for 6 months to a year to get everyone switched but you should ask for allot more money since its temp., that is if they hire a sales force!
I will never understand why Concerta had a patent to begin with. When methylphenidate went generic, it should have all been generic. The fact that Ritalin was placed in a OROS capsule to make Concerta to me is not a valid excuse to give patent protection. If a generic Concerta is out (or coming out) why the hell would a company need a salesforce for it, unless you're trying that "branded generic" scheme.
J&J employee here - not going to contract company. CNS is no longer hiring employees. Any vacancies will be filled by contract company.
Hats off to Watson/Andrx for Concerta, others have tried to challenge it as well (eg Schwarz/UCB) and have failed big time.
