Does it offer "detachable tip technology" like the current product? I hope it does...trying to retrieve broken enseal tips from the abdomen is almost like a skills lab exercise! Great teaching tool for surgeons!

I actually feel bad for the Covidien reps. It has been so long since they have actually had to compete w anyone. If they wake up, they are at 115% of quota. If they actually get out of bed, they are at 125%. The technological gap Ligasure has enjoyed is closing, and they know EES is about to take their lunch money.
Say what you want, but the only reason you Ethicon energy people are even bothering with enseal is because the ascent trash men stole most of your harmonic business. No one would even bother selling enseal if it wasnt for this fact. I am in a major metropolitan area and have not heard of one hospital buying an enseal box, and only scattered reports of surgeons converting to enseal. Lots of evals though....it's like running on a treadmill, you will never get anywhere! Now that enseal has improved, it looks like Conmed altrus may have a competitor it can compete with and not lose every time.
