You made us laugh, cry and become passionate about our CREDO mission. Don't ever loose your sense of humor or forget how to use a bow & arrow. Good luck with your new fight with Amgen. If anyone can turn a company around, you can do it!

Like they say in Vegas.......Good Luck!

John was a wonderful leader who truly cared. He will be missed. This is a huge loss for J&J. Best of luck to John!

I've been a JnJ employee for over 10 years, but I have to admit, I have no idea who John Johnson is - can someone please fill me in?

He started as part of the Floxin/Antiinfective team. He later left the company only to come back on the Ortho Biotec Side. I beleive he last had oversight of both Biotec and Centocor.

Typical career path at J&J that he had followed. Left the company after a period of employment and then returned for another position, usually better pay and responsibility. If he had stayed, he would never make it to this level.

why the love for JJ? guy organized great national meetings and was a funny down to earth guy. but what good did he do whil heading up ortho biotech and then biopharma for J&J. in my opinion he failed in both positions. y'all seem to place too much emphasis on how much fun he was - not that he was the architect of the failed expansion at ortho biotech whci was a horrible failure - never got another product for ortho biotech - and failed to keep our competitors at bay.

John - you are an incredible leader. You will always be remembered for your passion, commitment, strategic approach and value of people. You are the last of the true leaders at J&J who not only believed and followed the Credo, but actually lived it. There are no more leaders who embody the Credo like you. I recently left J&J after 15+ years because of the change in leadership and the dramatic change in culture. ImClone is the benefactor of your great leadership. Good luck in all you do!

    What a Huge Load...

John Friggin Johnson was. How about adding 500 sales reps to promote Procrit in Primary Care? That move cost JNJ HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS , maybe a BILLION overall. Yeah what a great leader....

John Johnson is a fat, phony little FUCK that quits every time things don't go his way. Just look at his record at J&J. When he and Seth Fisher got passed over for the big jobs, Fat Johnny left to start up his own company which failed. He had to crawl back to J&J on his hands & knees. He stuck his head so far up Poon's ass that she couldn't sit down. What did that get him? HE WAS FIRED FROM J&J. Just look what he accomplished at Ortho Biotech after he came in....NOTHING! He got what he deserved at J&J...his pink slip.

I agree John was a fat cocky prick who pretended practice over the years better drama in his on-stage speaches and in his high little boys choir voice belted out if you leave dont let the door hit you in the ass....well little man J & J slammed the door on your ass. I guess payback for treating your old direct report shitty was payback when she became your new boss. AMF

Don't really have an opinion of JJ, but don't forget his brief stint with Regranex-His astute management skills showed thru when he was the first to leave that sinking ship.

    let me get this straight:

    1. he launched Regranex - - - FAILURE
    2. he joined a start-up - - - FAILURE
    3. He launched the ortho biotech chronic care slaes force - - FAILURE
    4. he headed up J&J biopharma - - - FAILURE

And people though he was a great leader?!?!?

Don't forget the endless promises at Ortho Biotech's POAs of having a new drug in our bag to sell by year end (he actually made this promise to chronic care/primary care too) and neither got squat (ok, a lousy copromotion with Millenium but that was DePinto's doing----not JJ). I guess that is what got his ass fired was the empty promises made regarding a new drug. We still don't have shit.

J De P is an even bigger loser than JJ !! He was not responsible for the lame-ass Millenium deal. We hope that lowdown snake in the grass goes to IMClone too !

John Friggin Johnson is basically a worthless fat guy. The issue at OBI related to him is the incredibly stupid Chronic Care travesty. It cost Millions if not Billions to JNJ and this arrogant Fat -F*ck owns it BIG TIME!!!

JJ lost it not once, but twice at JNJ. What a pathetic bad call, bad performance loser. Bill Pearson is a genius compared to the guy., JJ insulted Bill, but Bill P. is twice the Business Person and Man this bloated loser is..

    Gotta be kidding me

I worked at OBI when John Johnson was there. He had zero ability to manage anything in corp America and he could not spell the word CREDO (neither can Weldon) He should have been flipping burgers at Burger King at the Somerville Circle. Good job keeping him on board, Poon.
