Just a guess- Probably better chances of landing a job when you were let go as part of a layoff rather than have your previous employer tell your prospective one that you were a slacker. I was one who was cut, I got a look at the new territory alignment. They did not fill my position, just spread it out. Good luck to the CAMS that have even more documents to collect. I had approximately 100 docs a month to collect.

Your previous employer can only confirm your dates of employment, not disclose the reason behind you leaving.

This might be true for some of the CAMs but not all of them. I for one, am out working like a dog-any my AE is sitting at home, collecting all the money.

To the idiot who thinks only info on dates of hire and status of rehire can only be dislosed that indeed is the law however in the medical community which is very small we can find out anything off the record I know your are an ae so i am just letting you know how the real world works lol

Legally may be true. Most employers check references, if you don't include your former manager or co-workers as references that's not gonna look good. Bottom line, if you were a slacker and fired, it's going to come back to haunt you.

Legally, a former employer can say what they want about a previous employee. It is a common myth that they only verify dates. A lot of pharma company HR people will only verify dates, however, that is limited to HR, and to Pharma. On the flipside, a lot of DM's, if asked, are given the liberty to notify a future employer that a person was let go for lack or performance! Numbers don't lie do if you get fired for poor performance, most DM's are going to disclose that info to a future DM, either overtly or discretely. Believe me, like the previous poster said, your reputation and previous performance will absolutely be a factor when looking for a new job. Don't rely on just having some dates and some Lura for your resume!

Another CAM let go last week. 17 years with the company. Loyalty and hard work mean nothing. This company does not value their CAMS. Run Forest RUN....

Ha Ha! Cams are just sacrificial Lambs!! The real news is when an AE gets fired. That means he or she is too dumb to figure out how to keep their CAM busy.
