I know this is a generic post for CF but I am looking for some advice on what companies would be a good start in this industry? I have 2 successful years of sales experience including one year of office equipment sales. I am located in the Midwest. Thanks for your responses.

With the labor market filled with qualified sales reps who may have been downsized (we all know of good people that were let go), I'd say that 2 years may not be enough, unless you rocked it in those two years. I'm talking about President Club. Maybe another year or two with a strong consistent track record will help put you in a better position. Or you can always go work for Implant Direct.

Run, not walk from dental. Look at a larger industry with more diversity, not a basically zero-sum game full of shitbag cheapskate asshole (on a good day) dentists and incompetent boob-dropout imbecile office managers, and how about those distribution animals? This business sucks. Thank God I am near the end (by choice)of my dental selling career after 25+ years in dental (and with good investments now lead a very comfortable life) and what was once an absolute blast-fun and lucrative place to work with smart respectful people you could learn from has become the worst POS I would have ever imagined. The worst-of-the-worst have floated like scum to the top and technology has literally buried us in the streets with bullshit tasks and f-ing ridiculous sales targets generated by people who couldn't do a day in the streets if their sorry, miserable ass depended on it and are not grounded in reality. Make a map of where you are going today? How about F-you?

The only way the business could have gotten worse is if the government was involved.
RUN don't Walk to something else! Aluminum siding-solar-shoes-McDonalds anything. You're Welcome. You'll thank me in 10 years.
