I'm assuming hospital. Managers are clueless when it comes to working hospitals and have a company generated phrase "dig deeper into your accounts.". Which in their inexperienced minds means wondering the halls & confronting MD's in the units ( ICU, MICU, etc....) appointment or no appointment. They actually think "Hospital Rep." means you spend 100% of your time in the hospital & actually get upset when an office call is made on an MD. They don't understand that you call on MD's wherever you can and they don't understand how hospitals have changed and become much more regulated for reps (reptrax, vendormate, etc....). The product is great, great benefits but major league inexperienced DM's & unfortunately it seems like they are jerks for the most part & that is putting it very nicely. hope this helps. Best of luck.

pay is good especially if you have prior hospital sales but expectations are 2-3 programs a month 12-15 calls a day and 100% of time spent roaming around the hospitals A lot different the the hospital position I had at Merck

How many reps are in your Company?

How much do you get for cell phone allowance?

How much do you get for internet?

I'm curious. I am hoping for an offer. Thanks

Major jerks with chip on shoulder. Lacking in security and many were misfits or fired from previous DM job or had no DM experience to begin with. Or the best have never been a hospital rep or were a rep or PC DM for a month before being promoted because they were the only ones willing to kiss that much ass and deface their own pride and self respect. Welcome aboard!!!!!!

heard there was a compliance issue in Cleveland. Don't know whether it was with rep or DM...could be both though rep is gone.

DM got rep in trouble for wanting to wonder the hospital w/o appointment. DM is responsible much like all hospital DM's w/this company that I've heard about.

wow then why is dm still here if they instructed rep to do something that the hospital regulations were against? not sure about this position anymore-

A big majority of my hospitals had a policy that you are not allowed to talk to any doctors about any product that was not formulary approved. If I had followed all of the hospital "regulations" I would have been fired because I would not have sold any Samsca. The hospital regulations are put in place by pharmacists to save their budgets. Nothing more.

this previous post is so funny- this sounds like a dm-how does it feel to not be permitted in one of the biggest hospitals in the country? They may make the rules but look what happens when you break them

I am so sorry that I just saw your January post about the Cleveland position, and hope it is not too late to help you. DO NOT TAKE THE CLEVELAND JOB unless you are very desperate (i.e. about to lose your home) and need the income for a short while. I knew the original Cleveland rep personally. Here's the straight up: In January of 2010 the original Cleveland rep had to leave work unexpectedly on a medical disability. Despite the jerk of a DM and the ridiculously high cost of Samsca, this rep was extremely close to closing both University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic, and MetroHealth-major, high-ranking supporters in these hospitals and formulary hearing dates with pharmacy supporters. Otsuka fired this rep while on FMLA (used the excuse that they could do so legally because they were getting rid of over 20% of the sales force), and hired an "experienced" hospital rep. The "experienced" rep has already quit the job. WHAT DOES THAT SAY TO YOU? If you have accepted the position, please do yourself a favor and start looking now. Truly wish you the best of luck.
